The moon basked and shone perilously bright in the darkness of the night, offering the light within the dark in the sleepy town of Ohio. There was talks going around about the death of Nancy Holbrook and Jesse Braun. The specifics were unknown however many suspected that there was something more sinister and malevolent at play. Quentin Smith was upset over the loss of his former crush, however he was more focused than ever. He dealt with terrible insomnia, though most of that was to do with the nightmares he had been having. He opted to fuel up on energy drinks and pills to keep himself awake— not wanting to deal with these nightmares, not just yet.

Nancy Wheeler too was more focused than ever, wanting to get down to the bottom of the evident and clear killings of her classmates Nancy and Jesse. Nancy Wheeler didn't like Jesse much but she could still empathise with his loved ones and wish her condolences to the families who had lost their loved ones. Browsing the internet on her laptop, she searched for information in regards to nightmares and death, that was until she stumbled upon a young male who captured footage of himself explaining them— though she could see how he was plummeting into madness as each video went by.

Nancy took her phone and called Quentin, they had grown closer within the past year and half through high school and she wanted to tell him about her research. Though Quentin did answer the call, he immediately rushed over to her house and was greeted by Karen Wheeler, who warmly welcomed him into her home explaining that Nancy was upstairs waiting, that she would bring them some coffee. Quentin was thankful and gracefully accepted her hospitality and he smiled walking up the stairs and noticed that Nancy's door was open.

"Nancy, I'm here." Quentin spoke softly as he walked in.

"Hey Quentin, I'm so glad you came. I know it's getting late. I'm sorry, however you're gonna want to see this." Nancy sighed, Quentin immediately reassured her.

"Hey it's not a problem. I don't sleep anyway, so hit me with what you found." Quentin laughed, Nancy too chuckled though she was concerned for his lack of sleep, however she couldn't blame him given the circumstances. Nancy brought her laptop to her bed as he sat down and she showed him the footage that she found online on the wide web. Quentin's eyes widened and he knew that Nancy was on the right tracks.

"Oh god. Freddy Krueger, he's not after us because we lied... he's after us because we told the truth." Quentin realised and he rested his forehead on the palms of his hands.

"Told the truth about what?" Nancy asked curiously.

"About his inappropriate relationships and behaviour with us when we were kids." Quentin answered, not fully saying the word but enough to imply it. Nancy understood immediately and she gasped.

"We will get through this, I promise." Nancy comforted Quentin with her words as she rested her hand on his shoulder. Quentin was thankful for Nancy, though since he met her— he had always had a crush on her, the crush developed into strong romantic feelings quickly however he wasn't sure if it was requited.

Karen came in and set their coffees down with some snacks and closed the door behind her after she left. Quentin and Nancy thanked her and Karen smiled as she walked down the stairs to help her son, Mike, with his homework. She was trying her best to be a more active mother to her children. Which is more than what she could say for her own lazy husband.
