Before I even stepped foot on this campus, Lionel Nealson had been the representative for the science program. 

Touring high schools across the state, preaching the good word of biology and chemistry.

 His eyes would linger over to mine during the presentation and he'd ask me all of the fancy academic questions. 

It felt odd then, too. 

A younger professor making eyes at a barely 18 high schooler. It mattered little to us. 

Well, to him, specifically.

He'd graduated two years before me. 

Stating that we'd been in the Science Club together. 

Since it's always been my dream to be the first transgender astronomist, I took every STEM course I could. Everything from AP Calculus to AP Physics, and even some that they couldn't provide. 

Until the high school decided I should move to university a term early.
