Genesis was sick to his stomach. He couldn't bear the thought of going to school after his father was arrested and his newfound hatred for anything to do with Indigo. Turns out, his father had a history of domestic violence. Now everyone at school would be looking at him but not for the reason he thought. Never would this have happened if he never met...

Genesis paused. His hand sat on the car door's handle. He stared at himself in the mirror, asking himself two questions: what did he become? And why did he let Indigo ruin his life? His life was perfect before Indigo. His father wouldn't be in jail, he'd be focusing on basketball and what college he would go to, and he wouldn't have as much drama as he does now. Everything was his fault— Indigo's fault.

"Indigo's fault, Indigo's fault..." Genesis repeated in his head.

As I sleepily walked to my first period, I heard whispers from the people I walked past them. I wanted to believe they talking about someone else but we all know that's not true. Some people pointed and laughed, others were scared of what I'd do to them. Meanwhile, I was trying to figure out who was to blame.

My dad, Indigo, or me? I was leaning towards Indigo. None of this would've happened if he hadn't shown up in my life. If we hadn't...done the things that we've done now, then my dad wouldn't be in jail. I wouldn't be so confused all the time. I wouldn't have to deal with being the talk of the school. This is all his fault...Indigo's fault...

"Gen,"

Speak of the Devil. I turn my head. Indigo is walking right beside me, unknowing of the damage he's causing in my life.

"Hey," I sleepily say.

"You alright? You haven't talked to me all weekend." He says. This would be much easier if he wasn't so cute.

No, Genesis. He is not cute. That's wrong. You shouldn't be calling a man cute. That's what got you into this mess.

"I'm fine," I respond. I wanna keep this as short as possible.

"You sure?" Indigo asks again. I try not to groan in his face.

"I'm fine, I just don't feel like talking." I speed walk away from him. It's wrong, I know, but he's ruining my life. I can't live like this anymore. This past month has been hell. I can't take it anymore. I could feel his eyes burning in the back of my head. I know he's staring at me...

This is wrong...this is his fault.

Indigo's fault, Indigo's fault...

Genesis put his AirPods in his ears before putting his head in his arms. People were still talking about him and his father. Unfortunately, his father was the football coach so everyone and they mama knew he was in jail. This was his worst nightmare. Everywhere he went, people were looking at him and talking about him. Geo walked into the classroom a few seconds before the late bell rang.

"Almost late again, Mr.Levi." The teacher said.

"I can't get here in five minutes, man. I need at least ten." Geo complained.

"You do have ten minutes to get here in the morning, Geovanny." The teacher said, rolling his eyes. Geo shrugged and sat next to Genesis.

"Make it twenty." Geo argued. He turned to Genesis, attempting to get a high-five from him.

"Right, G?" He asked with a wide smile. Genesis ignored him. He wasn't able to hear him because he had his AirPods in. Geo poked Genesis's shoulder.

"Right?" He asked again. Still, no answer.
