"Jacob, seriously, you don't smell like dog."

"Well that's all I hear from the Cullens. Seriously, can they not smell themselves? It's like.. old pennies and rotting corpse.. and blood."

Despite the constant reassurance, your proud boyfriend Jacob was still paranoid of his werewolf scent the vampires badgered him for. Despite how much pride Jacob took in his ancestry and werewolf form, he could be quite insecure.

Especially when it involved something that could affect you.

Jacob had been in love with you since the day you stumbled onto the La Push reservation years ago. You were quite the adventurous 6 year old, who enjoyed exploring the wilderness. Having a rather neglectful family led this into a common habit of yours.

You were confronted by a group of young children, who you would later learn were all Quileute. They all were unwelcoming kids, yelling at you to leave. Except for one, who assured them you were alright. That of course, was Jacob. He didn't know if it was your kind face, or the dandelions in your hair, staining the side of your face yellow, or the look in your eyes that desired a friend, but Jacob knew on that day that you needed to be in his life.

So, Jacob became your first real friend. Along with the others on the reservation, who ended up being very friendly, just protective of their territory.

You practically grew up with them, Billy teaching you as much of their culture as his own family.

As years went by Jacob realized he was in love with you. He didn't know exactly when, or if it had just always been that way, but the realization dawned on him as he approached his teenage years.

Finally, at age 14 Jacob confessed to you. Can't even say that you two had been inseparable since then, because you had been that way since childhood, but this was different. This was true love.

Your connection had only gotten stronger since you got together. His puzzling friendship with Bella, his discovery of his werewolf ancestry, and his run ins with vampires, you had been there through it all.

"Well, I'm going to guess I stink then." Jacob noticed your zoning out and staring at the water.

"Hey! You know I just do that sometimes, come on." You defended yourself, diverting your attention back to present-day Jacob.

Jacob now looked so different than he did when he confessed to you. His long dark hair chopped for a shorter, more cleaned up look.

And of course, he wasn't wearing a shirt. He would use the excuse you two were on the beach, but he rarely wore a shirt anymore. It makes sense, but it's still something to make fun of.

His body had morphed throughout the past 2 years as well, and not just with him shifting into a wolf.

Jacob had always been tan, but his constant exposure to the sun gave him such a glow now. He had gained a large amount of muscle too, which he was actually very proud of.

Jacob's looks weren't what mattered to you though, it was his warm heart, which had never changed.

Well, excluding his opinion on vampires.

"God I wish growing up with us would've given you our shared consciousness too. I'd really like to know what you're thinking when you zone out like that but it's always *oh nothing hehe*" Jacob said, mocking you in the process.
