"You sure? That doesn't really look right."

"I'm sorry, who's the one who spent months working on this thing? Now, keep the light steady. This'll need some precision."

"Trying, my arm is still not great."

...

"Y'know, this is kind of weird. Helping a 'Artificial' being repair his dismembered wooden arm."

"What? Is that a bad thing?"

"Well, I certainly didn't see myself doing this when I got here a week ago, but it's a lot better then being dead, so I can't really complain."

Fair enough.

Grrr, no good. The winding mechanism is completely busted. Stupid crystal. To think it'd still be busted up this badly after all this time, I just fixed it yesterday.

Sighing in annoyance, I stand up from my seat and walk over to the pile of boxes I keep spare parts in. With any luck, I'll find something in here that I can salvage for a replacement.

It's either that or go through the pain-staking process of designing an entirely new arm, which is definitely not something I want to do.

I mean, I've managed without an arm before; If I'm being honest my tail is just another limb, but having an arm is obviously better to not having one. It just makes life so much easier.

Come on. Give me something...

No... No... The fuck is thing? Oh, it's an old prototype. That's weird, this thing still looks functional, why did I throw this out again?

Ehhh, doesn't matter. Let's see if it'll work. A bit big but it might be okay.

Walking back and sitting down, I noticed that Luna was inspecting the arm herself, prodding and poking at its many features, I set the older part down on the desk and removed some of its many unnecessary issues. I forgot how bulky I made these things back then.

...

"Hmmm."

"You having fu-..."

Nghh.

"...Is something wrong with it?"

"Huh? Oh, no, not that I can make out. I've been stuck in here for ages, so this is by far the most interesting thing I've seen."

"Yeah? Well, you should've seen my other arm. A lot nicer looking, that one."

"I don't know, If it's anything like the one you have now, I think the wooden one has a lot more charm to it."

"Really? Looks more like a mess of cables and wood than 'Charming' to me, but you do you I guess."

Right, bring that thing here.

Pressing a smaller button, I dislocate the cable from the winder and move it away before removing the mechanism itself, the machinery falling apart as I brought it upwards. Small little crystal flakes that have since dulled in colour fall down onto the desk, making little 'tink' sounds.

Setting it down, I reached for the newly made one and slotted it into the open hand. It's a tight fit, but for the most part it works relatively well-

"Woah!"

Shit! Gaaah! This is why I need more then one arm! I could have just caught it if- Ughh.

"Wha? What happened?"

"Thing fell out, couldn't catch it since I was already holding something."

Mgh, still that's... odd. It usually doesn't just fall right out like that. If it were too big it wouldn't be able to fit in to begin with.
