Dark Angel (HS Fanfic)

One

                "Alex!" I heard my name being called,

"Alexandria get up!" I heard it again, I groaned and stood up from my bed. I walked into my bathroom and took my clothes off, I got into the shower and cleaned myself. Thinking about what we were doing today was the only thing on my mind. My family and I just moved here, well besides my father. He is a whole other story, in which, I hate telling. This was one of those small towns where you can walk everywhere, not really my style, I mean, we moved here from New York so I like the city. This area is, I don't even know, we are somewhere in California though. It's a lot hotter here too. I got out of the shower, it was Sunday morning. I was starting school tomorrow, best part about it is that I am starting in the middle of the year. I am 18, the youngest in the family, my brother is 19 but he is now a senior with me because he got held back, I know, he is an idiot. He just likes to mess around and not stay focused. Me, on the other hand, is what people like to call a "goody-two-shoes" I got used to being that when I was about 15. I didn't really care though. I started getting dressed, I wore skinny jeans and a crop top with sandals. I blow dried my hair and straightened it. I applied my normal mascara and eyeliner and some lip gloss. I walked down stairs to see my mom in jeans and a t-shirt with sandals and my brother in shorts and a v-neck,

"Morning" I said, I grabbed an apple and sat at the kitchen island,

"Morning honey, how did you sleep?" my mom asked me,

"Good," I answered, she nodded, I looked at my brother who was on his phone,

"What are you doing?" I asked him, he looked at me and shrugged,

"Nothing, just on facebook" he said, I laughed,

"What's so funny?" he asked, I shook my head,

"Nothing" I said, he just shook his head and went back to his phone.

"So, what are we doing today?" I asked,

"Actually, I am gonna be out, I have a bunch of job interviews today, so you and your brother need to stick together and go out to the park or something okay, I gotta run, going to go get ready, love you guys! Have fun today and behave" she kissed both of our heads and ran upstairs, i stood up and threw my apple away,

"You coming?" Aidan asked, I looked at him,

"Where are we going?"

"The park, let's just walk around and see where we are living" he said, I nodded, we left the house and started walking. It was nice outside,

"You think this school year will be good" he asked,

"You mean half, I am sure it will be fine" I told him, he nodded,

"I can't believe I have to redo my senior year, it sucks" he complained, I laughed,

"Then you should concentrate!" I said, he shook his head, we arrived at the park and there weren't many people. We walked over to the swing set and sat down, I started to swing a little and it soon turned into a who can go higher competition, I was laughing so hard I had to stop. We were such children, two little boys came up to us,

"Excuse us," they said, we both stopped laughing and looked at the children,

"What" my brother rudely said,

"We were just wondering if we can swing," they asked in their little voices, I stood up,

"Of course, hun, come on Aidan" I said, he huffed and followed me,

"You are too nice" he said,

"They were children!" I laughed, he shrugged his shoulders, we started walking to the food place across the street, it was a little café. We walked in and seated ourselves. The waitress came, she had brown, long hair, brown eyes, and looked about our age,

"Hey guys," she said, we smiled

"I'm Elena, I will be your waitress, what can I get y'all to drink?" she asked,

"I will have a water, and-" Aidan looked at me,

"Oh, same" I said, she nodded,

"You guys from around here?" she asked, we shook our heads,

"New to town, actually" I said, she smiled,

"Oh, well welcome! I know this is sudden, but would either of you like to work here, we need another employee and have been looking around for people." She asked,

"Actually, I need a job" I laughed, she smiled brightly and nodded,

"Great!" she said,

"You can start tomorrow, after school?" she added, I nodded,

"I will be back with your drinks" she walked off,

"Friendly" Aidan said, I laughed,

"Yeah" I said, she came back and gave us our drinks, we ordered, for me a salad and Aidan a burger, she walked off and soon came back with our food, we thanked her and started eating, it was actually really good.

We were walking back to the house, it was around five pm and it was still nice outside.

"Well, today was okay," Aidan laughed, I laughed too,

"It was, I got a job today" I said, he nodded,

"That you did" he said, we both laughed. On our walk we started hearing chants going, once we turned the corner, there looked like a fight or something close to our house, I looked at Aidan, he was watching,

"Come on, let's go see what's going on," he said, he grabbed my hand and started to jog over there, I tried to stay,

"What if it is dangerous, Aidan" I said as I was being dragged,

"Don't worry," was all he said.
