.Snow. It's such a beautiful thing; fluttering down to the earth with an unknown grace. Covering the landscape in a thick sea of white as it stains noses, ears, and cheeks pink with its biting cold temperatures.
It was on a snowy day that they had met; the elder and the fletchling. He; is unaccustomed to his recent demonic awakening. She; living without purpose for so many years. It was only a chance encounter, but it stayed with him forever while she forgot.
Blood on the snow is what drew her to him; splattered and dribbled outside of the cave that he took refuge in. The scent of a human near death, but the violating stench of something else being brought to life. It was foul but delicate, concerning yet intriguing, wrong but oh so right in a way that she just couldn't put her finger on.
She entered the freezing cavern to satisfy her curiosity, following the trail of crimson as it led her deeper inside. She could feel the powdery snow that rested atop her kimono seep into the fabric with each step she took. It was warm here; the person inside had started a fire it seemed. Her assumption had proved to be correct as a faint orange glow grew brighter as she ventured further inside.
The crunch of her zori on the frozen dirt alerted the sole inhabitant of the antre, making them flinch from their place leaning against one of the rugged stone walls. They curled in on themselves, shrinking in on themself like they were trying to hide away from her. "You -ngh- ... what do you want? Leave or else you'll only do so as a c-corpse!" They groaned out; body shuddering from the pain of their unseen injury.
She only stared at them at first, no words leaving her lips or movements being made by her body. This person, this thing, what was it? It was clear that they were a hanyō, but they just seemed... off somehow. Silently, she made her way closer to them, her face only inches from his head, but didn't seem to notice how close she really was.
"Didn't you hear me? I-I said leave!" The hunched person growls, baring their teeth and lifting their head to reveal a beautiful pair of garnet eyes. "Gh!" Their -no- his beautiful eyes widen in alarm as he realizes just how close the intruder had come to him.
She hums quietly to herself, taking his pale face into her hands; smearing them with his blood in the process. "What a curious thing you are, a hanyō for sure, but why is it that you give off such a pungent scent?" She asks aloud mostly to herself as she moves his head about in her hands, getting a better look at his face.
He attempts to smack her hands away, yet they don't budge even an inch, and a dull pain throbs on the back of his hand. She's strong Much, much stronger than he is, and now for the first time after his rebirth, he felt fear. He felt trapped despite the ever-so-gentle hold that she had on him.
Abruptly, he flinched, feeling pressure on the wound that he had been hiding under his tattered hakama. His eyes found a sash pressing down on his abdomen, getting soaked in his blood. The sash wriggled as if it were some kind of serpent and slipped underneath his clothing to caress his gnarled skin. However, the pain slowly faded away as he felt something foreign enter his wound.
She gave him no time to ask questions as she kneeled from her squatting position; the strange obi sashes retracted themselves from him as she brought a bloodied hand to her lips. Dragging her tongue across her stained fingers; letting the taste settle in her mouth. "Hmmn, it's foul at first, but with a lingering sweetness at the end... Tell me, what is your name?" She demanded of him; eyes locking with his in a half-lidded gaze.
The ruby-eyed man squinted at her in disbelief. This random demoness waltzes into his shelter, heals his wounds, insults him, and then demands him to reveal his name. What was the purpose of this nonsense? He would've scoffed at her if it wasn't abundantly clear how easily he could be dispatched by her hand.
"I have no name." The man muttered quietly; his voice just barely above that of a whisper as he turned his eyes away from her unnerving gaze.
Locks of white and green bobbed to the side as she tilted her head down at him. "No name...?-" She softly cooed at him; pausing to tuck a bit of his dirt-matted hair behind one of his pointed ears. "Hm. Then, I shall give you a name myself." The woman boldly announced as she mindlessly played with the hem of his tattered clothing.
"Naraku."

[「A/n」This chapter takes a very sharp turn away from both the manga's and the anime's canon. This chapter is also set just a day before Naraku turns Inuyasha and Kikyō against one another. Where Kikyō was Onigumo's reason to live, Y/n is Naraku's. ⋋(◍'◊'◍)⋌ Next chapter 1; Hanyō!]
