Zahira pov

Lana's words hit me like a ton of bricks. "Remember the case you were keen on fighting for? The one where you wanted to stand up for that old man because someone cruelly snatched away his son, ripping his world apart?"

"Yes, I remember. I'll fight for him, no matter what," I affirmed.

But then Lana dropped another bombshell. "Now you have to fight for his father too. He ended his life yesterday."

My breath caught in my throat, a suffocating weight pressing down on my chest.

"What? How?" I whispered, stunned.

"He ingested paraquat," Lana said, handing me the file.

"How is that possible?" I asked, scanning through the document.

I couldn't wrap my head around it. "But why would anyone do such a thing to themselves?" I questioned, my mind reeling with confusion and disbelief.

"Exactly," Shameer said as he finally spoke up. "It's not just suicide. Someone must have forced it upon him. No one in their right mind would willingly consume something so toxic. And let's not forget what happened to his son."

"It's not just hit-and-run or suicide. It's murder disguised as suicide. Someone wanted to silence them."

"But why? He's just a driver, a poor man. Why would anyone want to kill him?" I said.

"Surely, those people know something they don't want anyone else to find out," Shameer concluded.

I nodded in agreement. As I said,

"Let them hide behind their mask of deception. But mark my words, I'll expose their darkness to the light of truth".
