Chapter seven: Navigating Corporate Challenges
Mr. Matthew, Mr. Joshua, and Mr. Peter were all seated in the hotel lobby in total silence. Mr. Joshua had called this meeting with the sole intention of adding to Mr. Matthew's worries, highlighting the fact that he was the sole investor with a significant stake in Mr. Matthew's IT company. He finally broke the silence in the room by saying, "Mr. Matthew, I have been the sole investor in your company for several years. I don't wish ill upon you, but I cannot afford to suffer losses. For this reason, I am giving you two weeks to resolve any recent issues your company has been facing. Do not simply sit back and allow this issue to persist beyond the two-week deadline." He stood up and left, not allowing Matthew to respond to his unfair ultimatum.
Matthew, who was displeased with Mr. Joshua's approach, promptly instructed his secretary to arrange a meeting with his company's accountant, leaving him in confusion about the abrupt request for such a meeting. Without delay, Mr. Peter called the company to inform them that the accountant should be prepared as his boss had requested his presence.
In MRM IT company "Mi Rays Mat IT company", Mr. Matthew was in his office with both his secretary and his company's accountant, creating an atmosphere filled with tension. Mr. Matthew, considering how to address his company's issues, finally broke the silence, saying, "Mr. Jades, I am aware that you joined us six months ago, replacing the late Mr. Donald, our previous accountant. In fact, you have been in charge for over five months, so you should have insights into the recent financial instability in my company. Can you propose solutions to help resolve our financial issues?" Mr. Jades, well-prepared for this opportunity, boldly responded, "Sir, you are correct about my relatively short tenure here, but in my five months, I have identified the reasons behind our current financial problems. Over the last four months, we have incurred unexpected expenses that were not included in this year's budget." After providing reasons for the financial issues, he offered a suitable solution.
Mr. Matthew, having received a reasoned explanation and solutions, followed through with them, resulting in positive outcomes that brought smiles to the faces of all shareholders and investors, especially Mr. Joshua, who was deeply impressed by Mr. Matthew's success in resolving the company's financial issues, with no losses for investors and shareholders.
Despite promising his children that he would return in two days, Mr. Matthew couldn't fulfill his promise due to his busy weeks and days spent addressing his company's problems. However, he successfully resolved the issues without any losses incurred. Recognizing his children's disappointment, he decided to appease them with thoughtful gifts as their birthdays were approaching. He then headed home to reunite with his family and share his good news with everyone.
Chapter Eight: Family Bond Renewed
In the Badmus household, Rejoice and her twin brother Michael found solace in a heartfelt conversation, unknowingly becoming the subjects of Grandma's discreet observation. Michael, grappling with their father's perpetual unavailability, poured out his emotions, saying, "I never fathomed you harbored the same concerns. Dad, whom we've recently connected with, seems swallowed by his business, oblivious to our yearning for him. Classmates gossip we're fatherless and motherless." Tenderly, Rejoice consoled Michael, emphasizing their shared resilience.
As they continued their conversation, Rejoice shared her own struggles, expressing, "I've felt the weight of our family's situation too, Michael. It's tough being questioned by classmates. But we have each other, and with Grandma, Uncle Francis, and Grandpa, we're not truly alone. Let's be the strength the other needs."
Meanwhile, Mrs. Badmus, sensing her grandchildren's yearning for their late mother and the void left by their father's frequent absence, intervened. She announced a Saturday picnic at the amusement park, exclaiming, "Here are my beloved grandchildren, whom I adore deeply. Let's create joyous memories together!" Pretending ignorance of their sorrow, she embraced them, infusing joy into their hearts.
Beyond their room, Mr. Badmus engaged in a brief dialogue with his son Matthew, freshly returned from a business trip. Overjoyed by Matthew's early return, Mr. Badmus suggested he freshen up, visit the kids, and save his trip stories for a family dinner. Matthew agreed, and after a quick shower, he joined his children, who initially feigned annoyance but eventually warmed up to their father.
Apologizing for his prolonged absence, Matthew promised to make amends. The kids forgave him, excitedly asking him to join them at the Saturday picnic. To mend the bond, Matthew presented them with gifts, assuring more for their upcoming tenth birthday. The family savored a heartwarming dinner as Matthew shared uplifting news about his company's successes and outlined his intentions for a surprise family vacation, sparking excitement and anticipation among the children. However, Michael harbored a certainty that his dad would shatter everyone's heightened expectations with the usual disruptions from his business trips.
