"Mahi mennu chatiyona ki tere bin Dil naiyo lagda~"
Vansh sang whole heartedly spinning the drumstick in his hands as Anaisha creaked the door open. Hrithik deduced a fragment of annoyance to dawn upon Anaisha's face features but observing no change, wrapped his arms around Vansh and sang along with him, swinging left to right.
Ruhi rolled her eyes at them and continued analyzing the technical issue she was having with the keyboard. Nayan on the other hand shook his head, his eyes not leaving the book in his hands as he dangled his legs from the platform back and forth.
"Really guys?" Anaisha raised a nonchalant eyebrow at them. She wasn't in the mood to be teased about the rumour now. She had already messaged the account user to take down the photo but they had left her on read, and she didn't even know who's the admin so she could confront them directly which irritated her even more.
She tossed her backpack onto the chair in the corner and settled on the raised platform, like Nayan. She took a moment to compose herself and then began reviewing the lyrics she had jotted down, after calming down.
The lyrics weren't her best obviously, she had written them forcefully so she could distract herself. Reviewing them now she was sure that today they should just practice their old ones or prepare a cover. Echo verse (their band name) new song was out of the question for now.
"We are gonna be the ending scene in the fest?" Anaisha asked, Ruhi looked over from her keyboard and replied after pondering for a while "Not really, In the middle somewhere. Ekta said it isn't final though" Anaisha nodded furrowing her eyebrows "Didn't we win that game though?"
They did win the game. The bet that was made recklessly two weeks ago in the garden of their university when their band had a 'heated' discussion about it with the president, Ikshit. Who had then prompted to settle down with a rock-paper-scissors match.
They first denied feeling like it was a blow to their pride to decide their position in the fest with a childish (which they played the most by themselves) game but agreed afterward since they had no choice. Ikshit had lost in it and when he said it was a practice match, Ruhi was ready to lay hands. Eventually, they did a few more rounds, and Echo verse won in the end.
"Right? That's what I was saying. The student council is such a bitch. We don't have a say. Win or not." Nayan shrugged his shoulders in a done manner closing his book.
"I should have punched him while I was at it" Ruhi huffed.
"Who are we referring to?" Anaisha asked hiding her smirk, while the boys exchanged a look knowingly.
"That Ikshit obviously. President or not. He did lose to me in that. His ego is so high I swear, If I get another chance I would rip his hair. His eyes and his ears. I just-" Ruhi stopped her ranting in realisation and groaned when it hit her. The others laughed at her.
"Told you! Can't survive a week without talking about him" Anaisha gave a prideful smirk. It was totally like them to give random challenges and bets to each other. This was suggested by Anaisha a week ago, after noticing how much Ruhi talks about her rival Ikshit a lot.
"Fine Fine. You won. The food is on me next time we go somewhere." Ruhi sat on the stool with a bored yet defeated look.
Hrithik and Vansh sat on either side of Anaisha and high-fived her, while Nayan gave Ruhi a 'That's what I feel every time you bully me. Suffer now haha' look.
"Who is going last anyway?"
Anaisha crushed the lyric paper into a ball, she was a lazy worm, to save a few steps, she took aim at the trash can two meters away and made an easy free throw; the crushed paper went sailing inside the can.
