Tw – some intense tension, because people can't handle a make out session without warning?
—————Matthew had seen Five walking down the east hallway, he followed him and began walking with him. "Hey so you know that party the Commission is going to be throwing in a couple days for you?" he started, not bothering to say hi or anything.
Five nodded, continuing to walk while he had no intention of looking at him "Yeah, why?" Five questioned "I was wondering if you wanted to go for a drink maybe?" he replied, stopping. Five stopped as well, more at his words.
"You.. want to buy me a drink?" he practically repeated Matthew's words, who then nodded as a response "As friends of course" he added on. Five was dreading it, he didn't want to go to this stupid fucking promotion party. There was no point in it, but he knew he had to put on a fake smile for it.
"Sure, you can buy me a drink," he spoke softly, looking at him. If Five didn't know Matthew, he'd think that he's a lost puppy looking for someone to take him home, even with knowing him he'd still say that.
He smiled while he nodded, Five watched him walk off almost excitedly, he chuckled quietly to himself and continued walking. "Five, there you are. I've been looking all over for you" he heard an all too familiar voice say behind him, his body tensed up, wanting nothing to do with her right now.
She was going to be touchy with him, touchy with his face while all he could do was stand there like a child staring at his mother lecturing him, he would just blink away, but Jesus where would he even go? Forcing his legs were like a ton of bricks trying to move, he looked at her, his face blank as it could be as she approached him.
"Your speech, have you finished it?" she asked, he did not finish his speech, nor did he even write a single word on paper. He shook his head "I have, but I'd rather keep it private until the party" he lied. His voice sounded formal, only because she was around.
It's just a couple of words, why is it so important to have a party for just a couple of words? You're promoted, that's it.
She patted him on the shoulder, swiping her index finger along his jawline, he stayed still, only being able to make eye contact with her. Afterwards she turned around and walked off, Five watched her for a moment before he was able to move again.
And when he was able to move, he blinked around the Commission looking for Matthew.
Then he found him in the infinite switch board room talking to Herb, Matthew hadn't noticed him. He tapped his shoulder, which made Matthew turn around and Herb leaned over to notice him.
Which Five didn't care at the moment if Herb was there or not. "What time would you like me to pick you up?" Five smiled a little, a genuine smile, Matthew was a bit shocked at the question, he shrugged a little, thinking of a time "How does seven sound?"
"Seven is a good time, I'll pick you up at your apartment?" he asked, Matthew nodded while a smile creeped up on his mouth. "Yeah, my apartment," he responded.

Of all people, why him? Why did he have to be so good at something he hated doing? He was being praised, cheered on, and last but not least promoted.
He was dreading this even more than he was the past month, now that he was in the parking lot of Matthews apartment complex. Just minutes away from the hotel-casino that the party would be at, he ran his fingers through his hair while he waited.
A couple of minutes later the passenger door opened and Matthew got in, he looked over at him as he adjusted and put his seatbelt on. Five smiled a little at his presence, he felt a little bit of that weight come off of his shoulders, his mind cleared away the fog in his mind.
