Let's Make One Thing Clear: I am NOT the Main Character (A Prologue)

My perfectly normal NPC life ended the day a car was thrown through the front of the bookstore I worked at. Yes, I said *thrown.* No, I am not exaggerating. It was the day I should have died, but fate decided there was something more exciting out there for me than a newsworthy ending. Maybe it wasn't fate at all; just a series of wild coincidences that led me to tell this story today. Or maybe it was fate, but fate just so happens to be a bawdy, unconventional man in a mask with far too many weapons and a ready cache of sarcastic quips locked and loaded behind his teeth. A man who calls himself "Bluepool the Magnificent." (Did I mention his ego yet? Ah, well, I don't really need to, do I? It's there in his self-proclaimed title.)

I was swept into a world of government secrets, red tape that honestly is useless in the presence of a man that can dual-wield katanas, and a chaos I didn't know I needed in my own life, but don't get me wrong: this isn't my story. I never wanted to be the main character and I still stand by that. This is Blue's story as I knew him.
