I walk into the new apartment, Breathing in the fresh smell of dust and dirt, I place down the bags in my hands before I sighed.

"God.. This place is such a mess." I spoke before letting out a cough, The dust instantly going through my mouth as soon as I opened it, Violently coughing as I tried to cover up my mouth, The Dust flying off the counters and going everywhere.

I took a few steps back from the dusty counter tables as I covered my mouth, My violent coughs quieting down after a few minutes, Now I know why the landlord told me to wear a mask when I come in.

While my hand slid down into my pocket to grab out one of the masks the LandLord gave me, My eyes wondered around the room, Taking in the beautiful wallpaper flower patterns on the wall before my eyes locked onto a old red telephone placed on a little wooden desk in the corner of the room.

I walk over to the phone, My hand pulling out of my pocket as it reached down to grab the phone's handset, I place it next to my ear and muttered.
"Hello? Is there anyone there?" ..Silence, I check the phone's wire but it was attached to the phone's dial area just fine and there were no damage on the wire in sight, I try to dial my own phone number and place the handset back to my ear, My eyes locking onto my phone in hand, Silent, My phone didn't rang nor did the red old telephone.

I groaned in frustration as I roughly placed the handset back onto it's stand, Walking off and leaning against the counters, Crossing my arms while doing so, "What's the point of leaving that stupid phone there if I can't even use it?!" I ranted, Annoyed with myself for wasting my time just to see if that stupid telephone worked.

I stormed out of the living room and out the apartment's hallway, quickly going down the stairs to grab my other boxes of items, The Movers were helping me move my furniture out of that old dusty cabin I used to live in and transfer it into my new apartment, I quickly grab a few boxes before going back up the stairs again, Almost stupidly tripping on my loose shoe-lace.

A few days after moving day, I kept getting distracted by the old telephone in the corner, I sigh as my gaze fell back onto the tv in front of me, Playing the movie 'Antichrist', I don't get why people say it's so traumatizing, Yeah sure their infant son died by falling out of a window, But it doesn't make sense that you just go to a cabin in the woods and do sexual violence on each other, Like huh?

Whatever, I got up from the couch and went over to the old telephone again, My hands dialed the numbers '605-475-6968', I waited as the handset played a waiting music before I placed down the phone, Great, The call got canceled like usual.

I sighed in disappointment and walked over to the kitchen, My eyes searching around on what's inside of the fridge, I know I just went on a grocery spree but damn, My appetite seemed really picky today, I closed the fridge door shut, rubbing my eyes and letting out a light yawn.

"Better get to sleep I guess." I said to myself before beginning to walk over to my bedroom, I brush my teeth, washed my face and got into my pajamas as usual, I say goodnight to my bear plushie.. Fred, before turning off the nightlight and drifting off to sleep.

I immediately woke up to the sounds of a telephone ringing. My sleepy eyes glanced at the clock before widening slightly, It was 3:49. Who the hell calls someone at this time?! I groaned and reached out to grab my phone to only see that nothing was on the screen. No name. No number. Nothing.. Just an empty black screen with a faint reflection of myself.

I look around the room while I sat up, rubbing my eyes before I slipped my feet into my bunny slippers, Getting up and opening up my bedroom door, My eyes locking onto the ringing red old telephone in the corner of my living room, The sounds sent chills down my spine as I began walking towards the phone, My arms wrapped around one another while I was forced to endure the coldness of the room, Really wished I installed that heater now.

I stare down at the ringing telephone, My hand slightly trembling as it reached down to grab the handset, I pull it closer to my ear, At first I didn't hear nothing but the background music of the phone but then my eye's widened in shock as I heard a masculine, low, deep voice speaking on the other side.

"Uhm, Hello? Is there anyone there or-" The voice spoke, I let out a feared yelp before slamming the handset back onto it's stand, Closing the call immediately, I know I was trying to make the phone work but what the hell? How does this guy know my number? Actually, Who the heck is he?! And why did this dude contact me at 3 am in the morning!

After that night, I couldn't really sleep well, I felt so paranoid after that call a few nights ago, I wonder what would've happened if I kept that call going? Would that guy have gotten through my personal data or even access my location or is he one of those people who get access throughout the apartments phone numbers?..
