"Just trust me, okay?" Alex said to Adeline as he lead her onto the roof, his hand interlocked with hers. Adeline grips his hand tightly, holding on for dear life. Her eyes wide at the thought of falling and bleeding out to death.

Adelines hands tremble a bit, Alex had said he wanted her to get over her fear of heights. This isn't what she thought he would have her do. She thought maybe some high up rock climbing with a harnest, not climbing his 5 story house.

Alex guides Adeline to the center of the flat roof, which Adeline sighs relief. No chance of falling, she thinks to herself, well not that she knows of. Alex slowly lets go of her hand, Adeline tightening her hold as he tries to. He chuckles a bit.

"You have to let go, at least for now." Alex says, his deep voice relaxing her. Adeline trusts Alex since she has trusted him for years, and not once had he done anything to cause her harm. Slowly, their hands let go of each other, Adelines breath picking up.

Even just being this high up just scares her to death. All the 'whats ifs' and dangerous possibilities circle around in her head. Alex walks a bit around the roof, acting like he is so used to this. Not a bone in his body before scared or afraid.

He looks back at her and walks over to her, noticing how she stands there, frozen, her legs trembling as well as her hands even though it isn't even cold. It's just a late summer night, the wind gone, the temperature still warm. Not enough for someone to shiver.

Alex slowly guides her down to the roof to sit her down, saying this to reassure her she won't die or get hurt. Once adeline is sat on the roof, sitting criss cross apple sauce, she feels herself relax. Alex notices and cracks a smile, sitting down next to her.

"See? Look, it's not that bad. Plus we get a fucking amazing view." Alex says, looking out at the sunset. The mix of purple, dark blue, and hints of pink fasnate him. He loves sunsets, sunrises, and everything. He loves everything about this earth..he wishes he could stay forever..

Adeline nods and hums, looking out at the sky. Suddenly all her fears vanish away as she relaxes, trusting Alex.

"So pretty." She mumbles, nodding slightly. She glances at him to see him already looking at her, his dark brown eyes looking into her light blue eyes. They atare at each other, almost lost in each other's gazes till he snaps out of it.

"Yeah..yeah..pretty like you." Alex says, shrugging as he looks back out at the sky. Adeline smiles softly, blushing from his comment as she tucks some pieces of hair behind her ear. Then suddenly, Alex gets an idea to try and impress Adeline..

"Wanna see something cool?" Alex says, standing up and walking more toward the edge of the roof. Adeline watches him, confused, curious, and a bit worried. She watches as he gets dangerously close to the edge and she feels her own heart pounding in her chest.

"Be careful!" She yells out to him, making sure he hears her. He waves off her concern, having done this many times and not thinking anything could go wrong. He glances back at her, a reassuring smile on his lips.
