"Mmm, that bitch Mona, something else." Joe sat up from the bed, stretching as he felt peckish, wanting to eat or drink something. He wanted to head to the kitchen to check if the juice he left in the freezer was there or if he was imagining it. He informed her that he would be right back.

"Okay, catch me up." He entered the bedroom with his hands full, laying the items on the ottoman.

He smiled when she informed him that the show hadn't returned yet. He busied himself arranging the snacks, offering her a good amount of them. Just as he opened his honey-crunch curls, the show returned. The two moved absentmindedly closer to each other and to the middle of the bed, leaning on one another as they watched the television, quietly chewing on the food.

The new episode was long gone, but a marathon of the show was beginning now. She couldn't help but express her appreciation: "Thank you for watching with me. People usually don't want to, but I appreciate you for doing so. It means a lot to me."

He turned toward her as she began speaking. He smiled as she spoke, leaning forward and bringing her into a hug, rubbing her back. She relaxed into him, happy to be held honestly. She didn't know how much she needed that until she received it. It felt so good.
