"On your left!!" Lyla yells into my comms. I grit my teeth and aim my gun at the undercover cop. I smirked as he fell down quickly. I stayed low and checked all entrances and exits.

"Where am I going Ghost?" I ask her. I heard a strangled grunt and saw another cop laying there nearby, dead.

"Sass said you're nearing it, her and Takedown are working on the blockade outside so you're clear." She says in her overly calm voice. I nod and scan the clearing before bolting toward the safe. I heard a gunshot and covered my head before ducking under an oak wood  desk. Bullets struck the thick wood. I took a deep breath and came up to aim and shoot the man in the chest in mere seconds. He went down with a moan.

"Blockades almost clear for now, how's it coming Trip?" Takedown says over his calm, panting. I held my finger to it to switch the line from Ghost to him.

"Relax Takedown, I'm at the vault now." I say with a casual smirk. He sighs.

"you know where to put the charges right?" He asks me. I rolled my eyes.

"I've only been doing this for years now Takedown, chill." I tell him and grab out the three subsonic charges and place them in the spots. I press my bracelet on my wrist and it closes out my ears completely and starts the timer. I rush over to a better hiding spot and the building shook violently. Scores of dust landed on me, coating my black outfit. I sneezed and stood up. The scene was nothing out of the normal, the vault door blasted wide open, the desks and papers scattered in millions of pieces. The smell of seasoned wood and smoke filling the air. I smiled to myself, sauntering toward the open vault of treasures. The golden glisten of shimmering golden bars busted up made my smile grow. But what was more impressive was the glittering ruby that lay in the center of the room. In a glass cover, sat the largest red ruby I had ever laid eyes on and that was saying something. I climbed over the rubble and made sure there was nothing going to crush me. I grabbed out my backpack and carefully pulled the top off the ruby's case.

"Why hello there." I mumble and reach into my bag for the gem-carrier. This tiny device would wrap around the gem's shape, encasing and protecting it. Setting it just right, the device flicked on and closed itself tightly around the precious stone. I tossed it up and caught it with ease before putting it in the bag with the cash I had snagged as well. I switched my comm back on.

"Mission accomplished Ratarcs, extraction is going as planned." I call out.

"Don't get cocky Trip, a boogey got inside while we were fighting some nasty OPs. Be on the lookout." Takedown warns. I scoffed and cocked my gun.

"Don't worry, I got him. You just worry about getting to the Van ok." I tell him.

"but--"

"Dude I said don't worry. What's one guy against me?" I ask him and shut off his line to me. I flip a desk over and scoped the entrance. All was dead silent except for the sirens in the distance. After a spell of waiting, I breathed out and pulled my gun away. I flicked my comms back on.

"You sure someone got through Takedown? I'm not seeing anyone. They would've come out now." I say, going to retrieve my bag of goods.

PHSST! A near silent sound whizzes nearby and I spun around and grunted in surprise. A sharp stinging pain dug into my arm. I gripped it tight as I ducked down under one of the overturned desks. I pulled my hand away and shook at the sight of maroon red. Blood. My blood. I swore loudly, ignoring my siblings urgent concerns. I brought up my gun with my other hand and scanned the room. I heard another click from my front left and shifted my gun accordingly. My breathing had increased to rapid panting.

"Come out!! I know you're there!! Let's just talk ok?" I call out. I heard a shuffle and a shadowy figure leaps out from behind the pillar, a silver metal knife gleaming in its outstretched hand. Time slowed as I brought up my rifle and pulled the trigger. The recoil pushed me back a bit and the bullet flung him across the floor. I shakily got up and stared over his body. A streak of maroon red on his chest along with a growing puddle confirmed my kill. I crouched over him, ignoring the pain in my arm.

"Nice try. Better luck next time." I say and leave him there while I carry thousands of dollars away.
