"Mom. I met a girl today."
Ella notices when her mother's expression changes and becomes apprehensive for a few seconds before returning to normal.
"Really? How was it?"
"I introduced myself and asked her name and other things, don't worry."
She smiles but sighs as she turns the car key and starts the engine, focusing her attention on traffic while her daughter spoke.
"She lives in the neighborhood and invited me to come to her house sometime. Can you believe it?"
"No way?" Jennie sounds kinda surprised and deep down a little jealous of her daughter's courage.
Courage that she didn't have in her time, even though she was so uninhibited.
"I swear! And she gave me her number." She extends the note, flexing it between her fingers, completely satisfied.
"Oh! The first love..."
"Don't start, Mom, please!" Ella grumbles when her mother starts teasing. "You're reminding me of her mom-... Wait! I had already forgotten! She asked me to give this to you."
"To me? What do you mean? Who asked for what?"
"Malee's mom. Malee is the girl I met today." She explains as she takes the paper from her pocket and hands it to her mother, who takes advantage of the red light to pay attention to the note.

"Mom? Why are we making a U-turn?"

"Mom?"
"Where did you say you found them?"
"In front of that photo booth, the one that's-..."
"I know where it is. Wait here, please."
Jennie requests, without looking at her, hurriedly taking the car keys and running out the door.
