CHAPTER 1

"Hi, I'm Calliope Fuentes!" she brightly introduced herself to start the conversation when the seven of us are already here. "I'm 17 and I know you guys are already tired for today, but I hope you cooperate to this small chitchat para na rin medyo mawala yung awkwardness natin."

"But before that, who wants dinner?" My eyes met the clock and saw that the time is already 1:20am "...or midnight snack?" I asked and also the first one to raise my hand with my friendly smile. Hey, I'm trying my best here.

"I'm in!"

"I want noodles!"

"Let me help you." My heart melted to their response, maybe they're hungry too.

"I'm Xena," a girl approach me when we made our way to the kitchen.

"And I'm Lux, you're Quincy, right?" another man tells his name. He's the guy I first saw in the van.

"Yes, I'm Quincy," we quietly ready seven cup noodles, but in all fairness, the awkwardness decreases between us.

After serving the noodles Calliope starts the convo again. "Mmm curious lang, can everyone share their experience why you are here right now?--"

"Oh let me go first!" Ellison raised his hand excitedly. "Alam niyo ba na para akong nakapulot ng isang milyon? Yes, napulot ko lang yung lid na yon! Parang may bumulong sa 'kin na gawin 'to kasi hindi naman ako basurero to do that like out of nowhere lang."

"Then, nung iniscan ko yon, itinapon ko na rin sa tamang basurahan. Nakakalat kasi, bait ko 'no?" tinaas-taas pa niya ang kilay bago magpatuloy sa kinakain. Nasamid ako sa pagpigil ng tawa, the fvck, ang babaw talaga ng kaligayahan ko sa buhay.

Ako lang yung natawa, nakakahiya naman. "Mmm me naman, I bought ice cream that time because I'm having a hard time. Comfort food ko 'yon lalo na kapag malungkot ako or pagod then para ma-divert ko yung attention ko, I tried scanning the lid rin then I'm here!" Calliope said.

"Wait, paano ka pinayagan ng parents mo? You're minor, am I right?" Haves asked.

"They are actually happy to sign the consent for me because bilang lang yata sa kamay ko kung ilang beses ako gumagala. They are telling me to explore and make friends but I want to stay home and read books, do my things, you know," nagkibit-balikat siya at ngumiti na parang ayaw na niya pag-usapan pa.

"I also bought mine, nothing special happened." Asher said without looking to anyone and still eating his noodles.

"What's your name again?" Xena asked.

"I'm Asher, 18," He simply answered like totally don't have a care to any of us.

"Mmm that time..." ako na ang nagsalita nang tumahimik sila. " I'm actually looking for a cookies n dream flavor, but the staff approach me and just gave me an alternative." I tell them the story in a shortest way possible.

"I'm Xena Valde, 18 and to tell you honestly, the lid is from my friends' cornetto. I told her to scan the lid, but she's not interested so I told her to give me the lid and boom! I'm here!" lumapit siya sa lamesa na parang may ibubulong kaya lumapit rin kami para marinig iyon.

"She didn't know I won, don't tell her." humagikgik pa ito na parang sasabihin talaga namin even though we didn't know her friend.

"How about you? Lux?" I ask my seatmate whose enjoying his noodles, though I know he's listening. Mukhang nagulat siya sa pagtawag ko at medyo nasamid pa.

"We are actually cornetto lover, AHEM! SPONSOR!" parinig nito sa camera na nakatutok sa 'min.

"Bro, 'di ka rinig." Ellison said na dinilaan lang ni Lux saka nagpatuloy sa kwento. Hindi ko naman maiwasang matawa sa akto nito.
