Buddha's POV

'Click'The sound of camera went off as I bracketed my photos, trying to find a right exposure for the current scene in framing. It was like second nature since I've been doing for so long; maybe like 6 years professionally, but I've been interested in it way before that. I used to be in a firm, but now I'm a freelance. I do things my own way. I mean, we had free range at the firm, but now I have way more freedom. Glad I'm on an independent contract. I get more clients this way anyway, especially with my growing popularity, I could get my own exhibit. I can charge how much I want and when I want, it just depends on the clients needs and how complex it is to edit.
I was currently photographing a new shop and their products for advertisement. It was one of the many things I did, like nature, urbanization, weddings, portraits, etc. Once I was done I stood up to my full height and looked through the photos, deleting a few that I thought were taken at a bad angle. I smiled down at the rest, before looking up and going to the owner to check with them if they found what I took appealing. Luckily, this owner wasn't very picky. I didn't resent the ones that were picky, they liked things a specific way and it was my job to make it in their perfect vision. But less picky means a less tedious job.
"Hey Ms. Praise, is this alright or do you want to make them brighter, saturated, anything?" I asked while standing beside her showing her the pictures as I looked for her reaction. She warmly smiled at me, her slightly wrinkly cheeks creasing as her eyes closed contently. It gave me a small sigh of relief. Exactly what I wanted to see.
"It's wonderful. Oh I love these soo much, thank you. Y'know my daughter, she's helping me with this family business before she goes off to college. Do you think I could get a picture with you or of you before you leave?" She asked agreeing complimenting. I simply grinned and nodded, taking her phone and extending my hand to get us both in the picture. Once I did it, I handed her the phone back and watched as she smiled at it. "Thank you again, Mr. Evergreen."
"It's no problem," I said before I told her that the photos should be done by tonight after I edit them. The payment was done before hand so I'm good on that.
I left the building satisfied. It wasn't too frequent that I get asked for a picture, but I was known quite a bit so it wasn't surprising.
I took the camera off so it was now in its case, protected. I walked until I was at my car parked across the road. It was an all white 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS. I loved it despite the expenses on maintenance and what not.
My stomach growled, notifying me that I haven't eaten since breakfast and it was like 4 pm now. It's fine, I'll just get me a chicken sandwich from Roman Roosters or something. I wouldn't be lyin if I said I wasn't craving one. I've been busy, but I got time.
I was still driving when my phone went off in my car. Mom. I let out an Aspirated sigh at that, preparing myself for her overbearing personality. Even after moving out, my parents were still consistent in knowing every little thing in my life, despite me going against their wishes. I know some may think it's nice to have caring and present parents, but when they don't know boundaries and have some sort of idea that they control over anything you do, it's...
I know they don't mean it, or I at least hope so. They themselves came from harsh upbringings and just want what's best for me. But I also want to live the life I want as well. And nothing they do will make me love them less, they're just annoying, so we have our moments of disagreement. More than before, actually.
