I turn around, walking into the crowd hoping to find my mom somewhere. Maybe Sadie had a bigger family than I thought, or else it's just Angela who has many close friends. Whatever the reason is, there are many people here.

There she is! "Mom!" I shout. My mom is standing like 20 feet away from me, with her back facing me. I speed up as I walk towards her and grabs her shoulder saying, "mom can we go home now?" she turns around.

Oh my gosh, that is not her! That is some other woman. Wait I'm pretty sure that's Jacobs mother? Oh no how embarrassing! After apologizing to the her, look around (once again) and then I see my mom. This time it is actually her. I can see her face, and she's also looking around. She is looking a little worried. I rush over to her. "Mom! Are you okay? You look a little worried." She then looks at me, and fakes a stiff smile. "Oh its nothing honey. Are you ready to go home?" she is still looking a little pale. My best guess would be that, she is just really sad. I know that I should be sadder, than what I am right now. I just can't help it. "What were you laughing at before Amelia?" my mom asks me.

Should I tell her or not? I mean she wouldn't be proud of me, for flirting and having fun at my best friends funeral. No one would. Now I just feel bad.

"Nothing mom, I was just a little embarrassed as I bumped into this guy."

Lie. I don't want her to find out, so instead of giving her time to answer, I say something myself. "And um mom?" I ask her. I'm not so sure what to say. A couple seconds later, she answers me "Mhm?" I stil have no Idea what to say then it hits me. This is the greatest idea ever.

"Mom I'm gonna go to Amelia's place okay? I have some of my clothes in her room, from our last sleepover." I look at her with fake a smile. I hope it doesn't look as stiff as her fake smile did.

"I don't really know Amelia" she replies. "I mean if you are ready to go back there, then I guess that's fine." Yes! My hopes for this plan are high. I'm just about to leave when my mom says, "Amelia, You need to ask Angela first." I stop to turn around, and then say "oh yeah of course, thanks mom love you!" "Love you too!" she replies, blowing a kiss.

"Hi Angela" I say when I get to her. "Oh hi Amelia!" she says moving towards me, to give me a hug. "So, how are things?" she says, trying her best to fight back her tears. She and I both know the answer to her question. Terrible. Except Ethan, he really made my day at least 5 times better.

I answer her question. "Not great..." The 5 seconds silence, feels like one entire minute (which doesn't sound as bad, but in this case, it really is). She just looks down, waiting for me to say something. I feel so bad for her. She is all alone. Maybe it is a little respectless to ask to go to her house, but I have to. "Is it umm... Is it okay if I can go to your house? I have left some clothes there." She looks up looking a little surprised.

"Of course!" she takes my hands saying, "You can always come if you want to go through some of her stuff. You can even have some if you want." She smiles, but I can see that it is forced. "It's not like I'm gonna need it anyways." She then starts crying again, and I start hugging her again. "Angela its okay if I can't go, just tell me." I say with a shaky voice and a smile on my lips, even though I really need her to allow me.

She unlocks from our hug, and looks up at me saying "No, its fine. I just need to be alone now." Locking eyes with her I say "It's gonna be okay." Then I smile and leave. I look back at her, and she is smiling and crying at the same time.

And now, I'm on my way to Sadie's/Angela's house. I take out my phone from my pocket, I find Spotify and put on my playlist that I made before... everything. The first song is August - Taylor Swift. I plop in my air pods, and then my thumb hits the play button. After the song begins to play, I start making my way to her house.
