Admiral James Conner was released from his chains and shoved into a chair. Soon, a figure walked into the room, concealed by shadows that clung to the walls.

All James could make out was a curious alien shape. His lip curled in distaste.

"I trust you won't need those," came a voice from the shadows, and a green hand extended, motioning at his shackles.

James smiled thinly in response. "Hardly."

"Good. Then we can get started. I'm giving you the chance now to tell me where the rest of your military is hiding."

James' politeness vanished. "We will never surrender to you alien scum!"

"We are no lesser than you." Iciness coated the alien's voice.

"Aliens were born to be slaves; they could never be equal to us!"

Abruptly, the alien stepped into the light. "Yet we won the war."

James let out a gasp of shock. "Evelyn." He still remembered his former slave.

"You pick up a lot as the slave of an admiral. If you won't divulge the information willingly, I'll take it by force."

"You don't have it in you. I won't break." An edge of fear crept in.

"Don't forget," Evelyn said, "you broke us first."
