IT WAS FINALLY TIME AGAIN...Amayah was stepping back onto the ice to compete, and hopefully show that she deserved a spot on the National Team.

Max watched from his seat. He was given a VIP pass, which gave him one of the best seats in the stadium, plus no other fans were placed near him. Carter set it up for him in hopes that it wouldn't draw too much attention to the F1 driver compared to sitting in a normal seat around many fans. It was all meant to get people talking, nothing more, nothing less.

The place was packed, every seat was filled with eager fans. Some booed Amayah and many cheered. Just like Max would receive after winning, many hated that he did, but many loved it. The problem the two of them had were the fans on media, always spreading lies and gossip, giving them a shitty reputation. Like how the fans heard from Braxton the rumor of Diego and Amayah...and ran with it.

Amayah use to participate in both pair skating and also individual skating, but after her accident, there was no one Amayah could ever trust to be on the ice with...except Diego of course.

The music began.

And Amayah began go skate.

Just like that, every feeling of pain that has ever been in her body disappeared in the moment. Skating alone was her favorite thing. There was no relying on your partner, no drama, no nothing. Her mind would go quiet and then she would be free...free from all the pain and hurt she's suffered throughout her life.

Every spin...

Every jump...

Every movement...

Was perfect.

"And there you have it. Amayah Alvarez." the announcer says into the speaker, "back at it again, performing a perfect routine."

Max couldn't believe his eyes. He's never seen something...so memorizing.

As everyone cheered, Amayah rushed off the ice.

Diego was standing on the side, with the biggest smile on his face. He looks so proud, more proud then anyone has everyone been for her. And as much as Amayah should've felt warmth, knowing she finally had a coach by her side...there was something else running through her mind, or more like her body.

Pain.

So much pain.

Diego's smiled disappeared once he realized Amayah wasn't okay. "Mae?"

"My leg, Diego....my leg—"

"Okay okay. I got you." he whispered, looking around to see if anyone else had noticed how upset Amayah looked. Luckily, everyone was already focused on another skater on the ice now.

He gently held Amayah, guiding her towards her dressing room.

When Amayah was in the hospital, she spent a lot of time with the doctors, and so did Diego. He asked a million of questions so he knew exactly how to help her once she was out of the hospital. But one of the main things the doctor mentioned was because of how badly her knee was injured, there was a high possibility Amayah would always feel pain in her right knee...no matter the amount of surgeries or physical therapy she did.
