matt gently gets up from the bed, trying not to wake up scar. he walks to aurora since she's crying. he picks her up and gently rocks her. she stops crying after a few minutes and matt smiles before laying her back down. he checks she's comfortable before laying back in bed.
he gets back in bed and aurora starts crying again. he gets up again and takes her out of her crib. he figures she's probably hungry since it's noon. he heads downstairs and puts her in her high chair, making sure she's not gonna fall out or something. he practiced making formula milk from the second he knew scar was pregnant so he's gonna be fine.
he makes the formula milk as he makes sure scar's not gonna wake up since he knows she's exhausted. "there you go." he smiles softly, sitting at the table with aurora. he starts feeding her and she softly coo's. "wow you were hungry." matt looks at the already empty formula bottle. he washes the bottle and puts it back in the cabinet.
he takes aurora out of her high chair and takes her to the living room. he lays on the couch and puts aurora on his chest. he turns on the tv and puts on babytv. aurora lays on matt's chest, looking at the tv and inspecting what's happening. the tv wasn't loud since matt didn't wanna wake scar, but it was loud enough for him and aurora to hear.
around 2:30 pm, matt hears footsteps on the stairs. he turns around, still holding aurora, and sees scar walking in the living room. "good morning, baby." matt smiles, standing up from the couch with aurora. "good morning handsome. how long have you been awake?" she asks. "don't worry." he walks over to her and gently presses a kiss to her lips.
she smiles and they walk to the kitchen. "why are you awake?" matt asks, putting aurora back in her high chair. "it's afternoon." scar says as she grabs eggs. "you want eggs and bacon?" she asks. "I can make it too." matt stands behind her and snakes his arms around her waist. "I wanna make it." scar looks at matt and he nods. "then you can make it." he smiles, putting his head on her shoulder.
matt sits at the table with aurora and grabs one of the many books they have for aurora. "this is the colour blue. that's mom and dad's favourite colour." matt shows the blue page of the book to aurora. "matt she's not even a month old she's not gonna learn." scar stifles a laugh as she continues making the eggs.
"I can try." matt shrugs and scar giggles and nods. "and this is pink." matt points to the pink page and aurora coo's. scar takes two plates out of the cabinet and the formula bottle. she puts eggs and bacon on the plates and puts them on the table where matt was sitting. "come eat." matt says when he sees scar walk back to the counter.
"rory has to eat too." she says, starting to grab all the stuff for the formula. "I'll make it. you go eat." matt gets up from the table and takes all the stuff away from scar. "but your food will be cold." scar says. "that's why we have a microwave." matt shoos scar away from the counter and she goes to sit at the table with aurora.
scar starts eating as she watches matt make the formula and aurora play with the cloth book. "it didn't take that long to make." matt says, sitting at the table. "I'll feed her." matt says when he sees scar reaching for the bottle. matt feeds aurora as scar continues eating. "she's so hungry." scar says. "I know right. she ate like this when I woke up." matt says.
"when did you wake up?" scar asks as she finishes her food. "noon." matt answers simply. "and you didn't wake me?" scar asks. "you were exhausted and I fixed it." matt shrugs and scar smiles. "there you go." matt smiles when he sees the bottle is empty.
he puts the bottle on the table and starts eating. "what are the plans for today?" scar asks. "we're just chilling. we haven't been out the house in weeks so what's it gonna hurt if we stay inside for another day." matt says and scar nods. "okay." scar smiles.
