With a mixed feeling of remorse and dread I walked toward the house. Oblivious as to what the rest of the day would bring.

"I'm going to make the best of this day." I muttered to myself before throwing my keys towards the stairway. I sat down at the barstool and leaned against our island counter, sighing. Less than a few minutes later I heard the soft purr of my mother's engine and walked swiftly up the stairs, grabbing my keys along the way. Seconds after shutting my door I heard my mothers fake, trying to be flirty, giggle.

I groaned. Not again. I heard two sets of feet hurrying up the staircase and put my pillow over my head. Trying not to hear them.

Knowing her and Brian wouldn't see me, I quickly shed m clothes and shifted. The wolf inside me finally howling with a sense of freedom and release. Happily I jogged into the other side of my packs land. I let out a howl, letting the pack bordering us know that I was coming. I got a low warm welcoming growl from one of the 'guard dogs' I respectfully dipped my head near the ground but kept running.

The whole pack of Kaya knew my howl, the little village nestled 10 miles out of my village. We were nestled back into the hills of Iowa. Yes, I know how weird that sounds... But in Iowa, we were least likely to be found or hunted down. Hunters don't come around this area, considering it really causes health issues and many of the hunters that come in... don't go out.
