Darvin's POV:
Strange - I've never approached someone for a dance or anything. It was me who was asked out. This feeling is - strange
It's because of the words that came from her mouth, my words, " Love is just a delusion ".
I've seen people overhyping love and blabbering about it, non-stop.
What useless thing to do !
I've seen them doing cheesy stuff for the person they ... ' love ' whatever. But I never came across a person, a girl, who would have said that. Never !
There was a sense of - similarity in the way of thinking.
When I looked at her, I felt some sort of - comfort
We walked towards the center of the massive hall, hand in hand while I could feel lot many eyes on me, on her - both of us
Huh ! People have got no chill
We stood infront of each other. Her right hand in mine and my right hand on her waist.
Swaying to the smooth notes of music, our footsteps in sync
Whirling in the hall, looking each other's eyes
I looked into into her eyes, her black eyes, black like mine but glassy - I felt - good !
I held her finger and made her swirl around. She smiled - at me !
And I found myself copying her smile
It was natural
It happened !
We danced without changing partners for quite a long while when I heard the notes of music rise
They changed it from romantically soothing to intensely enchanting
And - the world faded !
It felt like everything just went into backdrop leaving the two of us
We gazed at each other's masked faces, smiles faded and our moves went fast, under spells of the violin
Her footsteps in co-ordination, we moved around the hall, back & forth, hand and bodies attached
I lifted her up, she gracefully uplifted her body, curled up her feet and spreaded her arms in air
As I brought her down, her gaze met mine again and at that very moment - time stopped
Everything came to a halt
She held my shoulders to balance herself and stood on her feet.
Both her hands on my shoulders and my arms around her waist, not blinking for once
With this the music came to a halt
We stood there staring into each other's eyes
None of us broke our eye contact
There was a huge round of applause in the hall that made us snap our attention towards the people and I got shocked realizing what had just happened
We were dancing among a hundred of people - alone !?
We took whole hall for ourself ?
We made them all move back while whirling in the hall ?
She gently bowed a little, taking all those appreaciations. I copied her and smiled at the people while her hand was still in mine which was pulled back as she straightened herself
She nodded her head at me which meant a - goodbye
and moved to where may be her family stood
Wait ! I didn't even get to speak to her
I wanted to go behind her when I was called by my father to make me meet his business partner Mr. Ordan James
I looked at her again. She was busy in conversation with someone
I sighed, fixed my blazer and walked to where I should be - among the business bee's
