Chapter 1
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. Groaning, I eased out of my bed, the springs of the mattress repeating my groan.
Today was my first day attending Brooklyn high. In a new state and city, i was nervous out of my mind. I grabbed my walking stick searching for the bathroom in my aunt marie's house.
I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, and got dressed. Then i did my makeup lightly, mascara and a little blush. I blow dried my hair into its natural waves.
"Marie lets go!" I yelled for my aunt worried that i would be late for my first day of school.
"Ready?" She asked me. I shook my head yes. We walked in to the car and I heard kids waiting at their bus stop laughing and talking to their friends about school gossip and drama.
*flash back*
"Dad are we going now?" I called down from my room. "Yes." He called back. I walking into the car putting my headphones in. We were going to pick up my mom from work and take her out to dinner.
My mom stepped in the car smiling. She always smiled. She gave my dad a hug and kissed my cheek. I pulled my headphones out and gave her a small "hello". I looked out the window watching the sunset and soon the darkness of sleep took over.
"Honey watch out!" My mother screamed. Soon enough a large truck smashed into our small car devouring it whole. My mother let out a ear pinching scream, and my father a blood curtailing cry.
I remember being carried out into an ambulance while my mom and dad laid on the ground lifeless. I remember asking why they weren't moving. I also remember being told that my parents had passed away a little bit over an hour at the same hospital that i was laying in. I was also blind.
*End of flash back*
As soon as i got out of my car i knew what was going to happen next. Snickers were heard from all over. I held on to my aunt as we walked up the walkway and to the main office to get my schedule and figure out where my classes were.
"Hello ms. Armstrong." My principle Mr. Fisher greeted me. "Hello Mr. Fisher" i replied in my best 'I'm happy to be here' voice. He wasn't buying it. "Ellie this school is very high in academics and you will fit right in, right this way." He said leading me down the hall.
I sat down in my seat and was introduced by the teachers and invisible to the students. Just like any other school day that i had had in Florida until this summer. After the accident me being twelve and my aunt being on a one person pay, i stayed in florida until i was 17.
I was being driven home after a boring and exhausting day at school."How was school?"my aunt asked me. "it was okay." i replied. she shook her head understanding that i didn't really want to talk about it. I ate the rest if my dinner and excused myself to my room where i played Ed Sheeran's 'The A team' drifting off into a deep sleep.
*Dream*
"Your so stupid Ellie! And if only you could see how ugly you are." A girl, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulders, yelled at a beautiful girl with black hair and blue eyes.the girl with black hair flinched hearing the smirk in her voice at the last part.
"You have your opinion" she said nearly whispering.
"What was that?" Mary questioned knowing what she said. She replied with nothing knowing the blonde wasn't going to listen any way. She laughed evilly and went to kick the girl in the stomach. When she was stopped by something. "Mary get to class!" The principle shouted. Mary and her friends scurried off to class. The girl with long black hair and blue eyes walked to class followed by a tapping noise that was her walking stick.
End of dream.
I woke up screaming breaking into a sweat. By aunt barged into my room and 'sh'ed me knowing that this was one of my recurring nightmares. I got up and grabbed a water bottle sipping it little by little and laying in the darkness with my aunt soothing me. Closing my eyes drifting into a sleep praying that i wouldn't have the nightmare that was my whole 6th-9th grade years.
