"Before I tell you though... their relationship isn't just them hating each other. There's far more than just hatred." Linh mutters, the guilt of telling you something so private is taking over her. Linh hesitates continuing, getting more serious.
"I don't want to go into depth about this, as it's a little personal.. but basically," Linh pauses, sighing.
"The girls and Harper were extremely close friends when they were younger. I'd say around beginning of middle school or late elementary." Linh whispers, continuing.
"I'm not exactly sure what happened but Harper has done something so terrible that somehow made all six of the girls get mad at her, from what I hear they call Harper a traitor.. I don't know. If you want to know the details, I'd ask Jia, since she knows but she probably won't tell you." Linh feels like weight has been lifted off her shoulders, the tension in the air seems to be disappearing. "Okay.. but did you actually make me wait so long just for a basic summary?" You respond, getting irritated. "Maybe.." Linh says meekly, shrugging. Linh gets serious again.
"DON'T tell anyone about this. Let's go back." Linh mutters, before quickly walking back to Harper, with you trailing behind.
"Damn, what took you so long?" Harper greets jokingly to the two of you. "Haha.. nothing. It took a while for me to remember what the teacher told me to tell Y/N." Linh smiles, Harper nodding, "Uhm.. okay.." Harper says, slightly suspicious but nods back and smiles. Soon, Jia seems to arrive and come up to all three of you. "Did I miss anything?" Jia asks.
"Nothing. Just Linh and Y/N went somewhere to talk.." Hayun replies, shrugging, before then you see Jia glare at Linh, "Okay.. well the bell's about to ring—" the loud sound of the bell is heard, students chattering as they rush off into their classroom. "I'll see you guys at break!" Harper says, this time her tone sounded more dry, and as if she was .. faking her happy tone and interest. Everyone goes into their own home room classes, you and Harper walking together.
"Was the thing about the teacher needing you that personal? Linh seemed very.. nervous when she told me.." Harper asked, her tone more dry and plain. "I don't know, all I know is that it has to stay between the teachers, Linh, and I. I might be able to tell you soon, but most likely not." You shrugged, lying through your teeth. Harper seems to nod, understanding. "Ah, I see.." Harper answers, but now she sounds upset.. rather.. bothered about something. It's odd.. does she know that you know about her relationship with Chaewon's friend group? Whatever.. just pray for the best.
You both walk into the classroom and sit down, but you feel a pair of eyes darted onto the back of your head, you slowly turn around and see Harper glaring at you, before she quickly realizes you noticed and immediately looks back down onto her empty desk, obviously upset. You just do the thing you were doing, as you listen to the students chirping about all the events that'll happen today and the incoming week from the speakers.
Eventually, the bell rings and you try to come up to Harper, but she just glares at you and storms off angrily. She definitely knew what Linh told you that time, as she seemingly rushed off to her next class. It was really odd, but you just went to your locker to get your things, until some random blonde with long hair comes up to Chaewon's locker- wait. That IS Chaewon! She dyed her hair, as she moved baby hairs from her face, waving at you. "Hi, Y/N, like my new hair? I got it dyed. It probably won't be permanent tho." She smiles, as you nod eagerly. "Wow, Chaewon. I thought you'd keep your hair brown forever, I was anticipating a haircut since it was getting pretty long." You reply jokingly, shrugging. "Anyways, I think that little bitch- *AHEM* Harper, sorry, is mad at you. I saw her ignore you like that while on the way here, that was actually kinda funny." Chaewon was clearly holding in a laugh, but you ignored it for your own dignity. The bell rang, and now you two were late. "Fuck! I have class all the way across the school, nice talk tho!" Chaewon ran off desperately, as you walked to class.
"Y/N, you're late. Not the best impression on the second day of class here, isn't it? I think you had plenty of time to figure out your way here." Your teacher scolded, as she sent you off to your seat. You just quietly scoffed and went to your seat, listening to your teachers nonstop lecture on something you already knew, but couldn't even comprehend, taking notes until the end of the period.

You rush out of your last class, your teacher holding you guys back because she wasn't done with her lecture, as you wave off to Chaewon and her friends, complaining about the teacher, as you start to dash off to the front of the school to your friends. Harper seemed to 'be back to normal', as she was smiling and cracking jokes. She looked at you, but her smile didn't drop. Are you going crazy? She was just obviously upset at you during break and lunch, what's up with her current mood switch? Whatever, she's not mad at you now, so just forget about the past. "Oh yeah, Linh, Jia, and Hayun are getting picked up by their parents today. So we can just walk home together." Harper said happily, heavily emphasizing the 'together', she seemed really eager to tell you something, but that'd have to wait since Harper was planning to wait until the three got picked up, and you didn't want to walk home alone the whole time so you decided to wait with them.
After around 15 minutes, all three girls were either at home or on their way to. You started walking with Harper, talking about all the new drama and gossip. Harper switched topics quickly, "Y/N, you have cash on you right? There's this new cafe I REALLY want to go to! Their food and drinks look really good! Can we stop by really quick? I didn't eat lunch." Harper smiled, but then it took you a moment to realize it was fake.. you ignored it once more and nodded, "But, what about the others? We can go another ti-" Harper quickly interrupts you, "Well I want to go TODAY, speaking of which- I see it just a few streets away! We can just do a few turns and go straight, come on.. pleaseee?" Harper pleaded, looking at you with puppy eyes.. she was really bad at looking cute, but you just accepted anyway.
You two arrived at the cafe, ordering your drinks and sitting down. As you get up to get your drinks and sit down, Harper immediately starts chatting about Chaewon and her friends, saying really mean things.
"Oh lord, how did they manage to get into theatre with those singing voices? Sakura, Kazuha, and Eunchae can't hold a note, Yunjin's used to do a little bit of opera and she can't hold a high note either, and Chaewon is just.. her voice is so terrible my eardrums want to blast! I stayed over to listen to their vocal practice and I never want to go back! I hope they don't return to theatre AT ALL next year! And, Yunjin is just so annoying and straight up pick me and Eunchae think she's 'so cute and small!' Harper mocks, as you try to process everything, every little word she's said about the girls. Harper takes a deep breath and sighs, as she shakes her head.
"Anyways, sorry, I just.. don't like them that much. Anyways.. about you and Linh's talk this morning.." Uh oh. This already isn't sounding good. "I KNOW what Linh said, I can just tell by your guys' faces and body language, and quite frankly, I'm VERY annoyed and upset at you two! It's so pathetic on how you can only keep secrets verbally.
Harper's mood changed in the blank of an eye, she was annoyed then she was angry and giving you a death glare. It made you really nervous, as you started fidgeting. "I-I told you, it was just about the teacher." Harper clicks her tongue and shakes her head, "Don't go denying it now. You'll just make it worse. I KNOW what was said during that conversation." Harper looks at you intently, waiting for a response out of you.

Whew, was that a chapter. Sorry for leaving you all on a cliffhanger for two months without telling yall- my mental health went downhill and I needed to desperately focus on school and myself, and also I had no motivation. Anyways, I have also been getting a lot more busy lately with extracurriculars and school especially with state testing coming up but I'll try to do updates more often lol, stay safe and healthy!
this probably isn't the best time to do an update with all the Le Sserafim drama, especially with their Coachella performance and overall their new comeback (which I loved), I might scrap the book I was talking about because I now don't really condone shipping idols but I also might keep it, just making the relationship platonic. Have a nice dayy
