Yesterday...

Yin-Yang watched as Fan and Lightbulb exited the room, their eyes plastered on the two. Once they were far away from the door, the quarrel took the opportunity to enter the room behind them, careful not to alert any of them. "What are we even here for?? I just..." They quietly said. Yin trailed off on his words, eyes locked on Cabby's file, which sat on the nightstand next to Fan's bed.

"So we're stealing? Never thought you had the balls, Yin! We're not stealing...J-Just...just looking..."

Yin-Yang went over to the file and lifted it up from the nightstand. Sucking in a breath, they opened up the file and began to read through the paragraphs. Seeing the repeating paragraphs of "really trying her best" just hit them in the gut. Yin's brows scrunched up in disbelief, his hand shaking. Even Yang seemed quite upset by the words imprinted on the file. The way the handwriting got sloppier with time really made their blood run cold. Yin-Yang set down the file and sat down on the floor, back up against the nightstand. "What was even the plan here?" Yang asked, prompting Yin to let out a sigh.

"That file...it's the only thing we have left of Cabby...she said all her other files were gone..."

"So? What does that have to do with anything?"

"I've just been so...torn up...about Cabby...We had a chance to save her, and...and we blew it...we weren't able to protect her from Blueberry...and...and now...I can't even think clearly anymore now that she's gone! I thought catching butterflies on the island would get my mind off her, but...it just made things worse when we found Silver...."

"Jeez, calm down! You're acting like you killed Cabby yourself."

"It...It feels like I did...if only...if only I just..."

Yin sat down heavily in his spot, "If only it was me..."

"

"..You think if you died you would've saved Cabby then?"

"I...Her life mattered more than mine! I-I'm sure you feel the same way, right?! You wish you could've done something different! I know you're not that bad of a person, Yang...You may not have the same feelings for her as I do, but...don't you at least feel...SOME guilt?"

Yang looked down at his shaking hand, "...I don't...I'm not...used to these feelings. It's...it's new...But that doesn't mean anything! Cabby's death was...n-...normal on that island...It...it would've happened eventually...just like...just like everyone else..."

"Yang...are you..."

Yin's eyes widened when he noticed tears running down Yang's cheeks.
