If anybody wants to watch a show with plot twists, Under the Dome is a show for you.
Let's start off with my first few thoughts when they started going back and forth towards the "outside" of the Dome and the "inside" of the Dome.
Barbie had goo on his hands when he appeared in the white space area. It sort of reminded me of the slime that one would find on butterflies cocoons. I told my dad that, and he shrugged.
Maybe, I had first thought, considering the title of the episode, that where Barbie and Joe and Norrie all were was some sort of heaven.
They all decided that they needed to move on- they accepted the fact that they were dead, and they traveled through the cave because they moved on to another life.
Julia, Junior and Big Jim, however, could not accept the fact that perhaps they were dead, so they stayed behind. Through the episode, Julia and Junior accepted the fact that they were dead, and began to "Move On", so to say. Big Jim, being himself, did not attempt to "Move On".
There was something else that made me believe my theory then.
In the beginning of the episode, when Ben talks to Barbie in the forest, he says that his asthma has cleared up, and he doesn't need his meds anymore. He also states that his Uncle, who is never sober, suddenly became sober and never drank.
Maybe that would be because they were all dead- their problems had cleared up. Well, their physical health problems at least.
And then, Melanie decides to pull Ben suddenly out of some goo-slime thing- and strangles him. Ben dies. That was when I knew maybe my theory was wrong.
However, after commercial break, you suddenly see some sort of monarch butterfly come out of him.
With the amount of butterflies seen and the amount of names seen on the memorial, I had a thought.
Maybe each butterfly- each monarch butterfly- symbolized each dead persons soul? I wasn't sure, but I had a feeling perhaps it was.
And then Melanie shows up and lies to Julia- she says that the egg will get them out. She writes a message on the dome to her father, which, had disappeared to those in the other world, and her father goes through the red door with the egg.
She grabs the egg and then strangles her father. She's sort of a rude person, isn't she?
I will leave everything else that happens up to you to watch...
But from what happens at the end of the show....
Who were those two ladies? They weren't supposed to be here? If Junior "died" could Angie return?
What if in all of those cocoons, every single character lay? Even those who died?
Angie?
Linda?
Duke? (Remember him? Died in the first episode of season one?)
Rebecca?
Others?
Maybe Melanie, whom I have never actually liked ever since she kissed Joe- because I ship Norrie and Joe together- is crazier than Big Jim? I mean, she strangled and killed TWO PEOPLE IN ONE FREAKING EPISODE!!!
Perhaps...
Melanie is the one who controls the Dome?
