When she first saw his gaze, her heart raced and her stomach tightened. She had no idea why, but she masked her feelings with a modest grin as she welcomed him every morning.
The second time was when she was ready to wake him up and he fell asleep while waiting for her to finish her experiment. It's been a normal routine for both of them, but today may have been exhausting for him because Karasuma Sensei went all out in P.E class.
She couldn't help but fumble her words, and he merely smiled at her before thanking her for not leaving him behind. Her cheeks flushed hot.
He may be unaware of the effect his eyes have on her, but every time she sees his stunning pair of eyes, her tummy does a somersault.
Intentionally or not.
So, when their firstborn child inherited his pair of eyes, she couldn't help but lavish their child with the same affection she did for him, and she showed his gorgeous set of eyes to her coworker, much to Takebayashi's amusement.
"I believe you have changed a lot, Okuda-san. For you to display your affection for your son was both surprising and humorous." Takebayashi mentioned one day during their lunch break.
Okuda simply laughed. "Right? Even Karma-kun questioned why I admired his pair of eyes."
"What did you reply?"
"It is uncommon for anybody to have a pair of mercury eyes, and for both father and son to receive one was like one in a million. Those eyes may give off a cheeky glimmer, but they could also be the softest I've ever seen. So, anytime I was down, those pair of eyes would always brighten my day, just by staring at them."
Takebayashi smiled. "Akabane-san must be flattered if he hears this."
Okuda giggled. "Oh, do not worry. I already have it covered." She imagines her husband's shy expression and can't wait to get home and embrace both essential guys in her life.
