A:N: Because this is fanfiction there is going to be some canon divergence, and incorrect plotlines. I try to follow along with the plot as accurately as possible, but I don't have the time to watch it again and make sure everything is correct lol. To add, this is set during s1, towards the middle/ start- not sure. I honestly just want to write about my sweet boys.

Cooper

It was a sunny day in the town of Twin Peaks. Douglas Fir trees swayed in the wind and ducks swam across the water of the lake. It was usually quiet, but on that morning rowdy visitors to the Great Northern were causing quite a racket, much to the demise of Cooper.

A loud bang awoke him, and he sat upright in his bed, blinking slowly to adjust to the morning light coming through the curtains. His room was still mostly dark and he let out a quiet curse when he accidentally stepped onto his belt getting out of bed.

It took a few minutes but he managed to find his clothes, most scattered across the room leading up to his bed from the previous night. It had been an exceptionally late night at the station, and he hadn't managed to get back to the Great Northern until god knows what hour.

Cooper pulled his rumpled shirt on, smoothing it out and buttoning it up. Typically he would've found another one, but the washing machine at the Northern had recently broke down, which meant he was slowly running out of clean clothes. He'd have to ask Harry or Lucy is he could use one of their washing machines.

Luckily, he still had a fresh pair of black trousers, so he pulled them on, tightening  it at the waist with his belt.

It didn't take long before he was fully dressed, hair neat and slicked back, and he grabbed his coat before heading down to the restaurant to get breakfast. A good cup of coffee would surely wake him up.

A familiar waitress (Jane?) greeted him as he sat down, and he smiled to her as she recited his order to him.

"Coffee?" She asked,  and hurried away to get it when he nodded.

Soon enough he was sat contentedly drinking some of the finest coffee, savouring every sip before he would have to leave for work.

Midway through a sip, he noticed Audrey enter, dressed in a red skirt and black heels, and he waved to her when she noticed him.  She came over, hips swaying and causing the majority of men and a few women to stare at her in awe.

"Hey Agent Cooper," she grinned, taking the seat opposite him and smiling up at him.

"Hello Audrey, I would love to stay and talk but I'm afraid I have work soon," he told her, smiling a little fondly when Audrey pouted.

"Really? Well at least I got to catch you before you left, I've got something to tell you,"

"Yes?"

"It's about Laura, I didn't remember this when you asked, but it came to me last night before I went to bed, I remember her asking me if I knew where Leo was once, not long before her death, and that she needed to find him,"

Cooper frowned, taking a long sip of his coffee, draining the cup completely.

"That is strange," he murmured, brain working its cogs trying to figure out what she would've needed him for especially so close to the time of her death.

"I know, that's why I thought I'd tell you, I hope it's helpful," Audrey stood and leaned in to Cooper, kissing him on the cheek before turning to leave.

"Thank you for telling me," he said, still a little distracted by the information. He waved bye to her, barely noticing all the stares of envy from the men surrounding him. It wasn't long before he left too, getting into his car and driving to the station.
