AUTHOR'S POV:

"It's Malachi.." Amara announced to everyone. Each person gave eachother a quick glance before turning to Amara.

"Well what are you waiting for?" Gustav asked. "ANSWER IT!!" Emily squealed.

Amara took in a deep breath before answering.

"Hello?" She said into the phone. "Amara?" She heard Malachi say from the other end. "Yeah it's me" Amara said with a small smile.

"Gosh Amara we haven't talked in ages..it feels so good to hear your voice" Malachi said sincerely.

Amara felt a bit guilty of all the pain she had recently caused him. "It feels good to hear your voice too.." Amara responded.

"S-so..how have you b-been..?" Malachi stuttered. Amara let out a slight laugh "Things have been okay I guess but I've been stressing about the tour and everything" Amara replied.

Malachi cleared his throat "That's uhh...that's good" He said. Amara could tell he wanted to say something but was hesitant about it.

She knew whatever he had to say was about her and Tom and she was just waiting for him to ask her what was going on.

"So.." Malachi paused and heaved a sigh "I saw everything about you and Tom.." He said in low voice.

Amara bit her lip and looked at everyone who was staring at her with pure curiosity.

Amara coughed a little "Uhh yeah I know and I'm really sorry Malachi" Amara said to him.

"Nah it's alright" Malachi said but she could tell it was an obvious lie. "No, no it's not alright.. I hurt you so badly and I didn't even bother to call or text to check on you" Amara said while playing with her nails.

"Yeah.." Malachi said lowly. "Look Malachi I'm really sorry for everything..the way I treated you and how I didn't even bother to call you to try a clear up the situation" Amara explained.

Malachi kept quiet as a sign she should continue. "I know it looks like there is a lot going on between us but trust me nothing is happening..anything you need clarity on I will clarify for you" Amara said.

Malachi made a 'hmm' sound "When he kissed your hand and you blushed?" He asked Amara.

"He was being friendly and I was a bit taken aback by the sudden action" Amara responded immediately which made Malachi feel a bit at ease at her quick response.

"All the eye contact and the way he holds you?" Malachi asked Amara. "We jokingly flirt with eachother but it's nothing serious..like when we stare at eachother Tom can wiggle his eyebrows as a sign he joking you know" Amara explained.

Malachi made an 'ohh' sound at the other end of the phone. "Yeah and 'the way' he holds me is just a little joke you know..even Bill or Emily can hold me like that" Amara said.

"He's just a friend Malachi don't worry" Amara said which put Malachi at ease but Tom...not so much.

He felt a little tug at his heart when he heard her call him 'just a friend' He knew Amara wasn't his, so why did he feel this way?

"How about when you went into the restroom together?" Malachi asked. "Nothing happened in there he just followed after me to ask for my number because everyone had started giving out numbers at the table" Amara said to Malachi.

"Why couldn't he just wait for you to come out of the restroom?" He asked Amara. "Well he-" Amara paused for a second then looked at Tom.

Tom looked at Amara as well but then looked away. "Well I don't know..." Amara said into the phone.

MALACHI'S POV:

"Why did you follow me into the bathroom at the restaurant Tom?" I heard Amara ask Tom over the phone.

"To ask for your number" Tom replied back. "Why couldn't you wait till I came out of the bathroom?" Amara asked him.

Tom sighed and paused for a bit. "Because earlier on Georg and I had made a bet on who could get your number first and I followed you in there to made sure I had it first to win the bet" I heard Tom explain and everything clicked.

I heard everyone make an 'ohh!!' sound over the phone. "You got that?" Amara asked me.

"Yup..loud and clear" I said. "So we good?" She asked me. "Uh huh no problem" I said smiling into the phone.

"Well good..we just wrapped up a concert and I'll FaceTime you when I get to my hotel okay?" Amara said to me.

"Alright can't wait" I replied back to her "Bye Kai!!" She said excitedly, "Bye AJ" I said back.

She gasped "Ahhh that's the first time you've called me that!!" She squealed. "What..? AJ?" I asked her.

"Mhmm!! I only allow people to call me that when I've gotten really close to them" She said to me.

I smiled "So you admit we're close?" I asked her. She chuckled "Yeah I think we are" Amara said to me.

I smiled and laughed "Well look I have to go but talk later!!" She said to me. "Later" I Said back before hanging up.

Finally I got to talk to her after such a long time and I was over the moon. I smiled to myself knowing nothing was happening between Amara and Tom.

Hi everyone this is a very short chapter but I might start making shorter chapters idk..but I needed to upload this chapter because I needed you guys to kinda get some closure that things between AJ and Malachi are alright yk..
