I apologize for any confusion caused. I realise that some of you are a little lost. But not to worry, I'll try my best to clear the fog here.
If you read the first book, you will note how Riley never denied her love for Layla, nor her feelings for Jennie. Even in the second book, she still states that her love for Layla is one that can never end. Reading one of the arguments she had with Layla on one of these chapters, she states how she does care about Jennie, maybe even more than she should, but the love she has for Layla is one that she cannot escape from. She cares about Jennie, but loves Layla. Probably more than she should. There's the difference.
We also see how Layla's commitment issues have nothing to do with Riley, but more to do with her past, specifically her parents. The question is, should we punish someone for having a fear pushed into them by the people they love?
We must realise that it is not time that tells the hearts emotions, but the pull of their strength. If you have anymore questions, do ask and I will try to answer them as best I can.
