A/N: starting off with a bang:) haha. um so this is a fun one! What can I say about this one... Emily started it. That's all I'm gonna say.
-----

I huff a breath as I climb into the car with JJ and Alvez for what feels like the millionth time today. Emily has been a royal pain in the ass today, and I'm over it. She had taken the liberty of waking me up earlier before the rest of the team, wanting to get to the precinct early. She promised me a coffee stop along the way from the hotel, so of course, my caffeine-and-Emily-addicted ass rolled out of bed, much to my regret. Her hand wandered over me as she drove, making me a mess just for her. She pushed two fingers into me as she drove right past the only Starbucks in this godforsaken town. I was right on the edge of my release as she pulled us into the precinct.

Tell me you know what happened next. Yup, she left me fucking hanging, right on the edge, with a damn smirk. To make matters worse, she was still sucking at her fingers as she breezed right into the precinct, as if no one was watching. They weren't; it was too early in the morning for people to even give us a second glance. I was a walking thundercloud, pissed that she didn't let me finish, and even more pissed she didn't get me coffee. She, on the other hand, was all smiles, like the goddamn Cheshire cat.

I couldn't be in the room with her, so I stalked out, straight to the one-stalled bathroom, locking the door behind me. I was right on the brink of release when the bathroom door opened, Emily's lock picking skills serving her too well. She immediately grabbed my wrist, pulling my fingers from me with a low growl, blocking my release again. "That's a strike. How dare you fucking touch what belongs to me," she had hissed in my ear, forcing me to clean myself up.

She forced me from the bathroom, slamming the door behind me, to no doubt do exactly what I was just trying to, making me even more frustrated and pissed off. Fucking hypocrite. To distract myself, I headed to where the officers kept the coffee, determined to make myself a shitty cup of coffee. They didn't have creamer, so I had to deal with a weak ass black coffee with too much sugar in it.

The rest of the team arrived finally, but Emily still wasn't out of the bathroom yet. I know her well enough to have known that is she was taking so long, it was because she was giving herself multiple releases. It made me fume, and snap at my team whenever they tried to talk to me. When she finally came into the conference room, her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes slightly glossy. No one else could tell of course, no one else privy to what Emily's blissed out face looks like but me. She didn't even bother to look at me, and jumped right into the case.

Without missing a beat, she sent me, JJ, and Alvez off to go to the crime scene again, even though we've gone over it with a fine-toothed comb. We found no new evidence. Then, she sent us to the ME's office, saying that since we were out, we may as well check on how the toxicology reports were coming. The ME could just call us. But no, we had to show up personally. By the time Emily made us run to the fucking moon and back, I was livid, and that is where I find myself right now, zoned out, and fuming in the front seat next to JJ.

"Are you okay, Y/n?" JJ breaks me from my internal thoughts of rage. "Emily pissed me off," I say flatly. "Oh no, trouble on the home-front," Luke teases me from the backseat. "Luke, I swear to God I will fucking end you," I spit. "Okay, easy, babe, why don't we stop and get you a nice coffee?" JJ pats my thigh, her voice sweet. "Please," I drop my head back against the seat, grateful for my best friend. "Luke, did you bring your earbuds?" JJ tosses a glance to the rearview mirror. He's been in the car with us multiple times to know when we need to talk about something he isn't meant to hear, and he nods, immediately playing his music loud enough for the two of us to hear the bass thumping lightly through them.

"Emily left you hanging this morning, didn't she?" JJ knows the both of us too well. "And she didn't stop for coffee like she promised," I grumble. "Well we're fixing one of those problems now," she says, pulling into the Starbucks drive thru. "God bless your beautiful soul, Jayje," I breathe. She orders for us, Alvez loudly requesting a coffee loudly over his music, making the two of us laugh.
