Ugbad Mahamed Nuurs Pov.
"You can't take me to Paris; it's more than a ten-hour flight," I protested, my voice trembling. He responded casually, "No problem, Miss Nuur," as if a trip to Paris were a mere inconvenience. His nonchalant attitude only intensified my unease.
"You're taking a girl, whom you've kidnapped, to a different country. This is completely absurd," I retorted, unable to comprehend the surreal nature of the situation.
"Someone who is kidnapped would not talk to their kidnapper like this," he remarked, his calm demeanor adding an eerie layer to the unsettling journey.
"I'm just going to scream and talk to a flight attendant at the airport, or the security up there. You're going behind bars anyway," I declared angrily.
"Good thing we ain't stepping our foot in an airport, Miss Nuur," he responded cryptically. Confusion and frustration welled up in me. How could we not go through an airport if we were flying out of the country?
"That's not possible. You can still just release me. I won't talk," I pleaded, desperate for some semblance of control in this surreal and frightening situation.
"We are not a criminal organization. We were just ordered to bring you to Paris, nothing else, Miss Nuur. So we don't care if you talk or not; you already seem to have trouble staying silent," he explained calmly. Did he just call me a yapper, albeit in a more professional manner?
"But I am just saying," I tried to express, but he interrupted me, asking, "What?" while handing me a bottle of water. Strangely, I took it and continued, "I was thinking that I don't want you guys to take me there, and this is a serious offense. Having someone follow you without their consent."
He scoffed and responded, "Miss Nuur, if you knew whoever made us do this, you would either be excited or stay silent." With that, I sat back and stared out the window, a swirl of thoughts engulfing my mind. Who was their boss, and what did they want with me?
I began to feel tired, my eyelids suddenly very heavy, and a sudden wave of drowsiness overcame me. "What did you put in the water?" I asked in a hushed voice, my eyes beginning to shut down.
"Sleep tight, Mrs. Kincaid," was the last thing I heard before succumbing to unconsciousness.
--------------
I woke suddenly in a room, a vast space adorned with beautiful floor decorations and two meticulously set tables adorned with green-themed flower arrangements. Despite the elegant surroundings, an urgent sense of unease compelled me to search for an exit. Spotting a large door at the far end, I rushed towards it, only to find it immovable. Panic set in.
My eyes darted around, and I noticed a window. I sprinted to it, gazing outside to a breathtaking sight. The city sparkled beneath the night sky, and the luminous Ferris wheel stood prominently before me. Overwhelmed by the beauty, I whispered, "SubhanAllah."
As I waited for the door to open, the silence became deafening. "Hello?" I screamed, but there was no response. "Hello? I am here. Who are you?" I called out again, met only with silence. Frustration mounting, I questioned, "Why am I here?" Still, no answers came.
With no other option, I retreated to one of the tables and sank into a chair.
------
Suddenly, the door swung open, flooding the room with light emanating from the other side. A mix of fear and curiosity surged within me as I stood up from the chair, drawn toward the doorway. What lay beyond that door? Why was I even curious? It was undoubtedly a bad idea, but the pull of the unknown was too strong to resist.
