Tension is not but could influence Compulsion
Tension or stress can sometimes lead to the development or exacerbation of compulsive behaviors as individuals seek ways to cope with or alleviate their discomfort. Conversely, engaging in compulsive behaviors may temporarily relieve tension or anxiety, reinforcing the cycle of compulsive behavior as a coping mechanism. This interaction can create a feedback loop where tension leads to compulsions, and compulsions, in turn, contribute to increased tension.
