This book contains disturbing subjects, such as excessive gore, (mass) murder and executions, war crimes, abuse and violence, kidnapping, discrimination on the basis of gender and sexuality, suicidality and depression, domestic/interpersonal violence, and sexual violence. There will be no graphic descriptions of any sexual violence in this book, but the assault itself is heavily implied, and the word “rape” is directly used afterward, so proceed with caution on Chapter 8 and onward.
While these subjects were written into the book for backstory, characterization, world building, and creative purposes, and this book is a work of fiction, these problems are very real. Hotlines are available in the Author’s Notes and Resources section of the book. None of the crimes the book portrays are in any way endorsed or approved by the author.
