I finally realized why people say if you love something let it go
I'll let them go because I loved them but they have their own path to follow
It hurts watching them go but I know that they were my favorite person
If you if you love something let it go
I will forever love you, but you but you left so I watch over you hoping you will be safe
I know I will eventually have to let go but for now I hold on to the memory of what we had
I'm sorry love but I must let you go even though you really left long ago and I'm still holding on to the memory that I have left of you
It still feels like you should be here so I tell myself
if you love them let them go

This poem was inspired by a breakup I had where they had really left the relationship long ago before I really even realized it and this is my way of getting over it me writing this signifies me finally letting them go and having them stop burdening my thought process.
