"Ladies and gentlemen, lassies and laddies, boys and girls! Welcome to the Marquette Tented Coliseum Corporation. Providing spectacular shows ever since 1942, our performance will be worthwhile! Up first is.."
Keila's mind wandered as the ringleader of the circus announced his script upon the broad, wooden stage. It was a family tradition of hers to return here annually. Keila wasn't exactly sure why her family decided on visiting an old rickety circus every year, but she never thought to question anyone on why. She'd already heard the ringleader's speech sixteen times; this being her seventeenth.
"Hey, did you get the popcorn?" Marianne asked, nudging Keila slightly. Marianne was Keila's mother.
"No, sorry. I forgot."
"Well go get it then!" Marianne demanded of Keila in a whisper-shout.
Keila got up from her seat and attempted to navigate through the audience. "Popcorn stand, popcorn stand.. Where are you?" Keila muttered through the loud chatter of the crowd. Keila's eyes darted around the circus tent.
Pop..op..opop..
"That must be it." Keila declared faintly. She sauntered over to the popping and crackling sound, assuming that it was a popcorn stand. Strangely, it was behind a door. She tried to pull it open. Tried to push it open. A moment before she left in defeat, the door whipped open.
"What?" a supposed aerialist snarled at Keila.
