Cameron awoke from the gentle rays of sunlight and the beautiful sound of birds chirping. She raised her arms in the air and yawned like an angel. "Good morning New York" she said whispering to herself. Then, she heard a knock on the door and she knew exactly who it was. She opened the door and stared angrily at Devyn, "Good morning honey, can I come in?" "Hi and no" she said as she slammed the door shut and locked it again. Devyn yelled through the door "I love you". There was no answer. Cameron laid back down in her bed and read Vogue Magazine but she couldn't help but to think about John, all she could do was think of John. She walked to John's room and opened the door silently, he was sleeping soundly and calmly with no care in the world. Cameron felt so sorry for him and she was glad that she did the right thing. She felt hands land on her shoulders and instantly pulled them off, "Don't touch me" she said not even looking at him. "What's wrong with you today, I thought we were okay" "No, I'm still mad at you, what time is it?" "It's nine o'clock" "I have to go get dressed and wake up John". She walked over to John's bed and woke him up softly, he turned over and opened his eyes "Good morning Ms. Clover, did you have a good sleep". "Please, call me Cameron and yes I did, what about you?" "Same as always". Devyn was looking from outside the door with a hatred spirit in the pit of his heart that never ended. "I'm cooking breakfast, do you want some pancakes and bacon?" "I would appreciate that very much, thank you". Cameron went into the kitchen to whip up something quick and Devyn just stood behind her staring vexed. "What are you looking at you jerk". "At you" "Well stop" "Why-""You know what, I'm done with you, get out of my way" Cameron passed Devyn hitting him in the shoulder slightly. Cameron opened the door and saw John buttoning up his shirt and wrapping a belt around him, he turned around to see Cameron with a plate of food in her hands. "Here you go John, I hope you like it" "Thanks so much". John smelled the pancakes and bacon; it was the best smell of food in the world to him, all he smelled was the food of rotten eggs and fruits in the garbage at his 'place'. "Well, we better get going soon, let me get dressed" "Take all the time you need" John said. Cameron went back to her room and locked the door to avoid Devyn, she took a deep breath, ran her fingers through her hair and whispered "Today is going to be a great day for you Cameron". She got in the shower and listened to soothing music from Michael Bublé, Sam Smith, and Barbra Streisand. Devyn was still furious that another man was in his home but he didn't let John see it in his face only because Cameron could detect it from being married to him for five years. "So you're an actor?" Devyn questioned John. "Yes I am, you don't how long I've been waiting for an opportunity like this to happen to someone like me" "I can't even imagine" Devyn said with a literal tone in his voice. "Look Devyn, I know you don't like me but in time we can get to know each other and you can finally get out of that shell of anger and frustration, and about Cameron, don't try to change her mind; she'll just become more isolated from you and more irate". "Listen you piece of trash, you know nothing about me and my wife and I'll never try to know you, I just want you out my apartment". Cameron came out of the bedroom with her high as a mountain heels, black sunglasses, and her sophisticated suit hand made just for her with her hair in a ponytail. "I'm ready John let's go" "Okay let's go" John opened the door for her and she passed Devyn without giving him the light of day but gave him a little hit on the shoulder with her shoulder that you could see from millions of miles away. Cameron slammed the door, Devyn kicked a chair and went to his bed. That couch had his back screaming all night for relief and mercy. Cameron waved her hand and a yellow taxi, brighter than the sun stopped and Cameron and John hopped in. "Where to ma'am?" "The Cort Theatre on W 48th St. & 7th Ave." The trip to the theatre was excruciatingly awkward but seemingly pleasant to both Cameron and John, their eyes wondering and looking at the different buildings through the window. Somehow they talked without even using verbal language, just through body language. The city mesmerized each of them each time they came across the tunnel and they've been living there for years. They would always see something different about the city everyday whether it was a new store or a building they never seen before. That's what they loved about New York, it changed every day... "Here we are John" "My dreams are finally coming true". He gazed at the beauty of the old, legendary theatre for what it was worth. He was honored to be performing in a theatre where all the famous actors before him performed like Laurette Taylor, Cory Smith, Emilia Clarke and so many others. They walked into the theatre and they walked down a beautiful hall filled with pictures of actors and angels painted on the ceiling. The floor was marble and the room was a glittering gold, John's breath was taken away. They opened a set of golden double doors and the stage was staring straight at John. "It's so beautiful, I would never have imagined to be performing here" "Where the hell are all my other actors!!!! Maria, Pat, Troy, Stacy, get out here now!!"John could hear the sound of laughing and people stumbling backstage and he didn't know what to expect. "Yes Ms. Clover" Pat said. "Are you guys drunk again?" "Of course not Ms. Clover, we're totally fi-"Stacy felt something coming up through her stomach and she ran to the bathroom. Cameron shook her head and breathed deeply. "Lord, give me strength... Ok everyone off the stage and sit down" Cameron yelled out. Maria, Pat, Troy, and Stacy all jumped up in shock and came to their senses at last; they all ran to a seat and stayed quiet. Cameron stepped on the stage and took off her sunglasses. "Everyone, I want you to meet a new member to this glorious show, John Star".John went up on the stage and waved his hand. "I want you all to be nice and treat John with respect and dignity like you treat each other can we do that?" "Yes Ms. Clover" they all said in unison and giggled in the same tone. "Now where's Mr. Cord?" "Who's that?" John asked. "He's the director of this show and he was supposed to be an hour ago" "I don't know" Pat said with a voice of drunkenness. Everyone heard snoring in the men's dressing room and Cameron ran to the door. She knocked hard and screamed "Mr. Cord!!!!!" Mr. Cord jumped up in fright and assumed someone was out to kill him. "Who is it?" he said terrified. "Cameron, now get your ass out here now!!" "Right away ma'am." They all sat in a seat and waited for Cameron to blow up the theatre with her roar of disappointment and frustration. "What happened to you?" Pat started first. "Well, yesterday after rehearsals I suggested that we have a little party to celebrate our victory of getting a job on Broadway so I brought some beer, Stacy brought Greygoose, Troy brought Champagne, Maria brought pastelitos with strawberry filling, and we all decided to invite Mr. Cord since he's single and old. We ate and drank till we dropped... the rest is history. Stacy hiccupped and Troy burped. Cameron was thinking in her mind that she should fire them but, she wanted to be a good person and give people a second chance at this great opportunity. "Everyone is fired except Mr. Cord." "What! But we've only been here two weeks" "And two weeks is all you have, goodbye." Maria, Troy, Pat and Stacy all got up and walked out the double doors. "Wait, how come I'm not fired?" Mr. Cord asked while pondered and surprised. "Because, I know you, you're not immature like those dumb children and I'm not going to waste another three months trying to find a director." "So, what now?" John asked. "Now we have to hold auditions again, c'mon let's go and Mr.Cord you can go home for the rest of the week". "Thank You Mrs.Clover, I won't let you down again".Cameron didn't want to go back home so early and read magazines till Devyn came home, she wanted to do something expensive and adventurous but what? "I got it" she said in her head."John, how long has it been since you've been shopping?" "Well I'd say about a year or so" "Well, I'm bored, let's go on a shopping spree!!!" They walked down to Macy's and shopped for clothes for hours on end. John must have tried on thirty different outfits and Cameron tried on so many dresses that it would make you dizzy, she bought $300 worth of dresses and John $400 worth of clothes. They walked up the street to go to Burberry and John was thinking in his mind how could one person spend so much money in on store. "Thank You for everything you're doing for me, I really appreciate this and this is a dream come true. "It's no problem, besides it feels good to help homeless people, wait, "used" to be homeless". She winked at him and he smiled. They looked around the store but Cameron couldn't find anything she wanted because, she already had it. "Do you want anything out of here John?" He looked around but he wasn't impressed by $3000 scarfs and gloves. "This store isn't really my style". They left and walked to Bobo's Café to some coffee together. "Ahh back again for a caramel latte and a bagel I see" Ronny said with a sarcastic voice as usual. "Just shut up and get me my usual stuff" Cameron said with fire in her eyes. "You want anything?" "No I'm not hungry just want some coffee". "Here you go, love birds" "Ronny don't play with me like that you know..." "Yeah yeah you and Devyn sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g and all that gooey lovely, dovey bull" "Okay, I'm so done here, I don't need your childish attitude". Cameron threw Ronny the money and walked out saying "Keep the change loser"."Wow, you and Ronny have been trash talking each other for ten years" John said in amazement that the two haven't fought like the Real Housewives of Atlanta. "It's a love/hate friendship, when I met Ronny I hated his sarcasm and slick comments but I started liking his nice side too, you've probably never seen his nice side before cause he only shows it to really close people, we actually dated before I met Devyn". John was shocked to hear this gossip but wanted to dig more into the juiciness of this soap-opera. "We dated for a couple of months then, all of a sudden, he changed and we broke up but we told each other that we can still be friends"."So why do you two fight so viciously?" "Because, when I started dating Devyn he found out and then he started hating on me that I found someone before him and to me that's childish but I knew that he was doing that just for show, we're still good friends but we act like we hate each other's guts". "Wow, does Devyn know about this?" "No and he could never know, and don't you spill any details with him or you're on your own" "I promise" John said with a sense of fear in the bottom of his soul. They caught a taxi and went to Cameron's apartment to find Devyn with his head lying on his hands crying. "Honey what's wrong?" "I got a call from my dad..." he couldn't finish his sentence because of all the tears drowning him. "What is it?" Cameron knew it bad news...
