'Yes, I understand' Anne whispered, her legs trembling with an urge she couldn't explain.
She sat in Dr. Maya's cozy office, the soft glow of warm-hued lamps casting a comforting ambiance around them. Anne's gaze shifted to the array of calming artworks adorning the walls, each piece telling a story of its own.
'But do you understand what it's like to lose yourself in your mind?'
She felt a sudden warmth in her cheeks, but a cold warmth that she was all too familiar with. Her voice quivered with the weight of her words. Memories, both painful and confusing, raced through her thoughts. Memories, she wished didn't exist.
'Do you understand what that painting depicts?' Dr Maya asked, her voice gentle as she gestured to one of the artworks.
Anne glanced at the painting, a serene landscape bathed in shades of blue and green.
'No, not really' Anne admitted, her voice tinged with curiosity.
Dr. Maya smiled, her eyes reflecting kindness. 'It's a representation of the mind's journey' ' she explained. 'Just like your journey, Anne.'
'Sometimes our mind takes us places we don't fully understand, but there's always a path to clarity'
'But it's just meaningless, everything is meaningless'
She had reached this moment after a series of life-altering events—her parent's divorce, The insecurities, and the overwhelming burden of expectations from people and herself. She thought of herself as a disappointment. Each incident had chipped away at her sense of self, leaving her adrift in a sea of unanswered questions.
'I had so many dreams and aspirations, everyone expected a lot from me, even I expected a lot from myself, but, I guess life had other plans.'
'What do you think your purpose in life is?'
'I pondered upon it once, but never came to a conclusion'
'What did you find out?'
'Why does it matter when there is no clear answer?'
'Somethings don't require conclusions, it can be a blur so that it clears up in the process. All you need is a thought'
'I get it' Anne replied, puzzled.
'I suggest you think about it again and let me know what you found out' 'No conclusions needed, okay?' Dr. Maya said with an assuring smile on her face.
'Good luck Anne'Yes, all she needed was 'good luck', when there was no good in it. She hated luck, it's always partial, life is partial. She hated every piece of it, she concluded that life had a grudge against her.
