Jonas was trying to steer the sled strait but he began to feel weak from the cold and hunger. Gabe had already stopped moving an is getting colder. Jonas lost control an fell off the sled protecting Gabe by lifting him with the strength he had left. Then it went black.

"That feeling, it feels-" Jonas said trying to remember the word warmth.

Jonas shot his eyes open and sat up. He looked around seeing Gabe soundly asleep warmer. "Bu-but how? We couldn't have survived," Jonas said confused.

He heared talking out of the cabbin room but couldn't think of any words that they said. suddenly the door opened. A girl with a tray in her hand full of food said to Jonas, "I was wondering when you would get up," she chuckled a bit then placed the tray besides Jonas.

She gave Gabe some warm milk out of a bottle. "Excuse me but who are you," Jonas asked. "Oh I forgot I'm Rosemary!" She said. Thousands of thoughts stormed through Jonas's head. Jonas questioned frighteningly "Bu-but weren't you released!" Rosemary stared at the ground as if she was daydreaming. "Yes," she paused and then contenued, "I already knew that they released people in that way so-" " How did you escape the giver saw you die!" Jonas exclaimed cutting Rosemary off. Rosemary looked at Gabe the turned to Jonas and sat in the chair right behind her. "I replaced the shots with water when I snuk in, I pretended to die so I could escape that wicked place." They both stared at eachother. Jonas thought for a second about what the giver said before he had left.
