small but enough,

jeonghan wakes up at the sound of his baby wailing in the middle of the night — he sighs, looking at the time before standing up from his bed to walk to where the baby girl that  used to be sleeping was in. the baby's cries soften when the papa's touch comes to pick her up and cradle her.

"what's the matter my heart? is something wrong?" he whispered out as he rocked the baby girl to enjoy her sleep once more. the baby didn't close her eyes, more interested into her papa's hair as she softly giggled when jeonghan sits down and brings her closer.

he lifts her up slightly until the baby's feet were ghosting over his lap before blowing raspberries on her stomach with a happy smile — the loud laughter from the infant erupts in the slightly lighted room with the sunshine barely up from the window before a shadow comes to haunt them from the open door and the hallway lights.
"hm?" jeonghan looks up and sees his lover, "what time is it cheollie?"

"it's five, i wanted to get ready before checking on her but looks like she woke you up from your sleep, didn't she?" the lawyer yawns and jeonghan nods, "you aren't the only looking after hanuel you know, i can take care of her too."

seungcheol takes the baby girl from his hands, pressing a loving kiss on the infant's cheek before walking off with her to make breakfast for the three of them. jeonghan of course, follows them — enjoying the scene of seungcheol cooking with their daughter whom is occasionally leaning over to look at the cooked goods.

"aaah! ah!" the baby babbles, hitting on seungcheol's shoulder as she babbles to jeonghan after she turns around to the younger father. he laughs, blowing harmless raspberries to the bubbling daughter of theirs who giggles and vibrates even more in his arms while seungcheol struggles to keep her steady so he wouldn't drop her.

"here, let me hold her while you finish up."
"change her diaper too if you can, my love." and jeonghan kisses his cheek, whispering out an agreement before he walks to their daughter's room to change her diaper.

she giggles as she feels the cold wet wipes on her bum, cleaning off any poo that sticks to her skin before placing a new diaper under her bum. he throws the dirtied one into the trash can, making a mental memo in his mind to throw out the stinking plastic later.

"come on my heart, let's get ready to eat." he nuzzles his nose against her's and she giggles, slapping her palm on the father's cheek before trying to blow a raspberry on him but unfortunately, only a fountain of saliva found its way out instead of her tongue.
he makes a playful disgusted face, and makes a dramatic expression that makes her laugh even harder.

he wipes the saliva on his face with a wet wipe, and heads down the hallway to the kitchen to see his husband setting up the table. "i'll wash the dishes after this cheol," and he nods, pressing a kiss on his forehead and taking the infant in his hands.
"you always do my love."

"nurse yoon! someone is asking to meet you." peeps the doctor into the children's room who were more interested in the nurse with them than in the doctor who called for the nurse.

"i'll be right there doctor jeon, thank you! now, listen here all of you cute chubby cheeks, you can only have one piece of chocolate later —"

there's a line of displeasure that follows to which he raises his eyebrow at, "— and no, yaeyun you cannot do puppy eyes at me for more, i'm not like nurse kim okay?" he smiles as he drops the chocolate wrappers to each one of their extended hands.

they still happily take it and thank the nurse for his time, he smiles.

he leaves the room, hoping to god that the kids won't bite each other for the chocolate he shared with them as he leaves the children's ward to enter the visitation area for the families of the staff working here.
"papa!" he's greeted by the loving smile of his daughter who runs to his open arms. his face immediately brightens, "how is my baby flower doing? hm?"

"papa look! i made something for you!" his daughter raises up the piece of paper which has been drawn on, to which the nurse takes it and stands up, admiring it before looking at his husband, "it's so pretty."

it was a drawing of their small but enough family and both their hearts felt like crying while also squeezing with joy.

hi everyone!! i've been meaning to publish this special chapter a while back but i couldn't before so i'm doing it now! it's a short but an okay amount of words for me tbh — it's simple and i think shows both of them moving together as a couple and into family life :)
i think both fit the daughter dad a bit too much but i just love them for it.

i hope you enjoy seeing their family bond <333
