Scandalous (A One Piece Fanfic)

1 - An opportunity

A/N:
This is my first time writing something like this. I recently watched and finished/caught up to both One Piece and Bridgerton, and I've been reading a lot of doujinshis (let's be honest, if you're here reading this, then you probably have too) and I saw a ZoLu (Zoro x Luffy) one that I liked a lot. I don't personally ship the two, but it gave me an idea for an alternate One Piece universe structured similarly to Bridgerton, so here I am.

WARNINGS / A QUICK BRIEF:
This fanfic contains several One Piece ships - Law x Luffy, Zoro x Sanji, Franky x Robin, Usopp x Kaya, Doflamingo x Crocodile / Doflamingo x Vergo, Shanks x Buggy, Sabo x Koala, and Nami x Vivi. Most of these ships are only mentioned briefly, except for Lawlu and Zosan, which the story is mostly centered on. If you don't like any of these ships, please don't hate—I'm mostly writing this for my own benefit, and I'm not trying to force anybody into liking any of these ships by writing about them.

This story takes place in the One Piece world, with DF powers and most of the same characters except several things are altered (example: Goa Kingdom is nothing at all like the kingdom that our poor Sabo was raised in and is instead ruled by Shanks, who adopted Luffy, who eventually became the princess and heir to the throne of the Goa Kingdom).

THIS STORY DOES CONTAIN ANGST. I incorporated most of the major angst events (except for Corazone's) into this story, so Ace lovers be prepared. I also came up with some angst of my own because I have an odd obsession with Luffy angst, so Sabo lovers (and possibly Shanks lovers? I haven't decided yet) consider yourselves warned as well.

Luffy is a princess. A boy, but a princess. He's basically the only crossdresser in the story, and is otherwise the same as he should be, but I just wanted to experiment with the AU a bit and changed him a little.

This story also contains heavy language and several chapters with NSFW. I'll make sure to put NSFW warnings so you can skip them if they make you uncomfortable.

There was a princess.

The princess wore heels and dresses. The princess had a great, warm, wonderful smile that everybody in the kingdom loved. Those were perhaps the only princess-y things about the princess.

Oh, and, the princess also had a horribly large appetite.

"Get back here!" Sanji, the head chef of the palace in the Goa Kingdom burst from the kitchens, curly brows furrowed with irritation as he dashed after the figure down the hall, who was laughing heartily as he ran from the furious cook.

"Sorry, Sanji!" Luffy called over his shoulder, speaking through the mouthful of meat he'd just bitten into as he ran. "I couldn't wait for dinner! It's too long!"

"You can't wait for fucking ten minutes?" Sanji hollered, skidding slightly as he swerved around the corner the princess had just turned.

Luffy opened his mouth to either reply or take another bite of meat (let's be honest, it was probably the latter) but before he could, he turned another corner and ran headfirst into his (adopted) father.

"Luffy?" Shanks looked down, frowning. "What are you—"

"Damn rubber!" Sanji appeared right behind Luffy, sliding to a halt when he realized who Luffy had run into. Immediately he dropped into a low bow, his attitude entirely different than how it had been hardly moments before. "Your majesty," he said quickly. He considered snitching on the princess, but then recalled that the poor boy's grandpa was visiting, and decided that he wasn't cruel enough to doom him to such a fate. "We were just playing tag," he said, rising from his bow but not quite meeting Shanks in the eye out of respect.

"Tag, huh?" Shanks turned to his partner, Buggy, with a soft smile. "It's been a while since we've done something like that, hasn't it?"
