I stroll on over to the teachers desk half-accomplished so far. I just have to pop the question. "Hey, um, Miss?" I start. She hums in response. "I was wondering.. am I able to work with Eddie for this project..?"
She looks up at me. "Don't you already have a partner?" She asks.
"I- Um- Yeah? But, they haven't been super helpful and it's been really boring and there's like zero chemistry going on. So, please?" I plead.
She sighs, clearly annoyed with me. "Is Edward and your other partner okay with this decision?" She asks me.
I cringe at the use of his full name. Edward? really? "I.. think so? I mean, Eddie said he was fine with it, so I think we're good?" I said to her, hoping that was a good enough answer.
"Have you not asked your original partner, Richard? That's the only way I'll switch you. So, go ahead and ask them if they're fine with it. If they are, I'll just put them with someone else." She says as she goes back to working on her stuff.
I cringe again at the use of my full name "Yes ma'am." I salute her and walk to my partner's desk.
"Heyyyy. So, uh, are you fine with having a different partner? I kinda wanna have someone else to work with." I ask her.
"Yeah. Whatever. You're kinda annoying anyways." She replies, not looking up from whatever she was doing.
"Ouch, okay. Well, you're boring and I was just trying to work with you since it's group work. Whatever, since we're both okay with it, bye." I say.
I walk back over to the teachers desk. "She said it was fine. Can I please go work with Eddie now?" I ask.
"Yes, that's fine." She responds.
I speedily walk back over to Eddie's desk and sit down, leaning forward on my forearms. "Howdy, partner. How are you this fine day?"
He groans.
He just loves me sooo much.
