This is Gene's point of view y'all!

I was 11, and I was starting in a new school that day. I was pretty nervous, because I had been studying at home until that moment and I didn't know anyone.
When I got in, the headmaster told me everything I needed to know and where my class was. I walked inside and saw so many students just fooling around, talking and that kind of stuff.
But there was that girl.
She was apparently the most popular girl in the class, and probably the whole school. She had short, brown hair and brown eyes too.
I stayed standing in a corner until the teacher got in.
"Class, we've got a new student this year. Come to the front and introduce yourself" she said. Obviously she was talking about me, so I walked to the front.
"My name is Gene..." I said. I didn't know what else I could say so I went back to my corner.
"Now, you have to choose who you'll sit with for the rest of the year" the teacher said.
That was going to be a problem. I didn't know anyone.
And then, it happened.
The popular girl came to me and introduced herself.
"Hi, I'm Eva! Do you mind sitting with me?" she asked.
I nodded my head in response, and we both sat at the back.
"Why haven't you been here all this years?" she asked me, curiously.
"Well... I've been studying at home, but my parents thought that it would be nice for me to make friends" I answered.
"So... can we be friends?"
"Sure"
The teacher approached us and looked at Eva.
"How's your dad?"
"I haven't seen him for a while, I don't live with him, but... I guess he's fine, working on something..." Eva answered.

The classes were funny, and Eva made them crazy. When the last class ended, we went together to the front door. I had been feeling weird for the whole day, asking myself why she would have decided to be my friend when she could have had anyone in the class.
"Uh... Eva?"
"Yes?"
"When you could have chosen anyone... why did you choose... sitting with me?"
"You know? People in this class just like me because of my father, but in the end, they are not 'my friends'..."
"And who's your fath-"
One of Dr. X's robots came.
"I gotta go, bye!" Eva said.
She ran after the robot, and I started walking to my home.

I hope you like this, I've been planning on making this before I started writing '4 Complexes'!
