*Content warning: Medical Crisis**

I owe her big time for letting me sit with her while the movie played. The credits were finally rolling and Folio was cleaning up. I intend on helping him when I get up, but I'm in no rush to get Emerson out of my lap. Despite feeling relieved that the movie was over, I can't help but still feel calm around her no matter what. Not to mention, she smells amazing. For someone who has issues with sugar, the scent suits her.
Emerson starts to stand up slowly, making sure not to hurt me as she rises. I put the foot rest down so that it doesn't trip her while she stretches. She's so beautiful, her curls fall so softly around her face and around her shoulders. She sways slightly as she finishes her stretch and I start to stand, reaching out to steady her. Before I can, all I hear is a soft, "Nick." and she's collapsing. I throw myself at her, catching her right before she hits the ground. I turn around in what feels like slow motion to look for Nick as I feel nothing but panic. "Folio!" I yell, he must not have heard her from the kitchen.
Folio comes running in and pales when he sees Emerson limp in my arms. "I don't know what happened. She stood up and was stretching one second, the next she's going down. I don't know what happened." I say again, quickly and panicked. I turn and look back at Emerson as I hear footsteps pounding down the stairs. "What the hell is going on!" Jolly shouts, Nicholas not far behind him. They must have heard me shouting. I put one of my hands around the back back of her neck while the other finds her cheek, gently tapping. "Emerson, Doll. Wake up for us okay? We need you to wake up." Folio kneels down beside me with a bottle of orange juice. "Dragonfly, wake up. I got you some juice, but you need to wake up." He runs his hand across her forehead into her hair as she slowly opens her eyes. She blinks for a few seconds before she goes to push Folio and I away. "Guys I'm fine." She slurs, barely audible. I can feel the tension in the room. Jolly and Nicholas are trying to keep their distance while keeping up with what's going on. I slowly grab her hands while I turn her so her back is facing my chest and wrap my legs over hers. With that I gently hold her hands in mine while I lean down to talk in her ear. "Doll, you need to calm down. We need to get something in your system but we need you to work with us, okay?" She just rolls her head from side to side, completely out of it. "Folio, see if you can get her to drink some juice. I'm going to hold her head still, she's not going to let us help her." Folio looks peeved but nods and scoots closer to us.
I gently place my hand around her neck, cupping her jaw and holding her mouth open while Folio starts to slowly pour the juice into her mouth. I close her mouth and blow on her face, getting her to swallow. We go on like this, getting her to drink and pausing so I can blow, and her to swallow and breathe, and again. Finally after about ten minutes, she starts to come around. I let out a sigh of relief as I slowly let myself free of her. She's still placed against my chest in between my legs. Jolly shakes his head while letting out a breath I'm sure he was holding while Nicholas rubs his hands over his face from the stress. "I'm sorry." She mumbles, and I can't help but let my head snap back towards her. Folio is looking at her like she's crazy and I'm sure all of our faces match his.
"Why are you sorry?" Folio asks, reaching out to hold her hand. "I left my monitor in my room. If I'd remembered to bring it down we would have had a warning. I'm sorry, I forgot." She's crying, trying to stand. I reach out and wrap her in my arms again to keep her from getting up too quickly. She's letting out these tiny, heart breaking cries, so soft but so loud all at once. I look up at Folio for an answer of what to do. "Help her up to her room? She seems content with you right now. Just stay with her until she falls asleep, I'll clean up down here, guys go back to bed. She'll be fine by morning." He says, looking defeated. He's upset, but why? It's something different from worry. I just nod and pick her up gently, wrapping her arms around my neck and putting my hands under her thighs so her legs were loosely hanging around my waist. I make my way up the stairs with her, but instead of going into her room I take her to mine. I don't feel right going into her privacy without her being able to tell me.
