Ajax felt his body dead, numb, and floating into nothing. His eyes fluttered open and was met with pure darkness
"This again?"
He scoffedHis eyes shut back, seeing nothing but pitch black.
Suddenly, he felt his back hit the cold, hard snow. Sitting up, his mind hazy and confused.
"What did I do to anger my master this time. Why was I suddenly thrown back to Snezhnaya?"
He asked himself, looking at his delusion. While pondering about what happened to him, footsteps echoed through the forest. Footsteps of somebody he knew. This person has an aura that emitted golden ores of a cave, and the soft soil after rain"What are you doing out here, 11th Harbinger?"
"I know that voice..."
He turned around, seeing the Archon--- whom he admired for a while now--- staring at him straight in the eyes
"Morax."
"What are you doing here in the cold, did the Cryo archon send you?"
"No, I'm here on my own free will"He lied through his lips, knowing well that Morax sees right through him. The archon held out his arm and created a small ball of fire, creating light to guide the way. He proceeded to walk into the dark without any reply.
Ajax, his eyes full of hope, followed the Geo archon. Not out of curiosity, but out of gratitude"Ajax, you know what led you to follow me, correct?"
Morax froze in place, and so did his follower.
"Yes, I do. Because I want to pay you back."
"Incorrect."Ajax's eyes widened
"What do you mean by 'incorrect'?"
"You just don't want to be lost in the dark anymore."
Morax held out his hand, the fire still there.
"What do you see?"
"A fire."
"What else?"
"Light."Morax smirked and closed his palm, causing the fire to burn out.
"Correct."
"But Morax, that doesn't explain anything"
The archon walked closer to the puzzled boy, a finger lifting his chin."Light cannot start without a source. Think of it, the source of that light came from the fire"
"I know, but you still aren't making any sense."
"That light is you, the fire is the abyss. When I shut the light, what happened?"Ajax hesitated, not knowing where this is going
"The light is gone"
"The light is gone, and so is it's source. When you escape the abyss, a part of you dies. You feel that you have the responsibility to protect it, for it is the place you gained your strength."Morax pointed a finger towards the horizon, the sun rising
"The sun... what do you think it represents?"
Ajax gasped and quickly turned to the archon
"Light?"
Morax nodded. The boy smiled at him as he continued his small lecture
"In the dark, you search for light. When you are lost, you search for light. The best light you can depend on... is the sun""But what if it's night, and I'm lost in darkness?"
"Then count on the moon, my sweet Ajax. The sun never leaves, it's always watching you, just from a different face."Both watched as the sun rose. Ajax's eyes seem to be shining, making Morax proud. He turned around, his tail getting dragged along the cold snow. Ajax turned around, he called out to him
"The sun is always watching, right?"
Morax nodded, not turning around. Ajax clenched his fists
"Does that mean you're always watching over me?"The archon giggled and whispered under his icy cold breath
"We'll see, Ajax."He walked far off into the forest, his voice echoing in Ajax's mind. The ginger boy gripped his chest, feeling his heart beat faster
"We'll see... I hope we will, my sun."
