Kirika woke up really early the next day to open her birthday presents. She got excited at every single present she opened.

"Wow! A Lego Ninjago set!"

"Wow! A backpack!"

"Wow! A bunny plushie! Shu, it looks like you!"

Shu groaned. "Why does everyone compare me to a bunny?"

Kirika opened more of her presents, some of them which include a comic book and play dough.

Kirika went to open her Lego Ninjago set. Shu told her not to leave any pieces lying around.

"Why?" asked Kirika.

Shu sighed. "No pain compares to stepping on a Lego."

Kirika was starting to build her Lego set when Fubuki came in. "Hey Kirika. Can I join in?"

"Sure," said Kirika. She allowed Fubuki to play with her. Fubuki was much better in placing the pieces together than Kirika.

Kirika thought of her family tree project. What was she going to write in her essay? There was no way she was going to say that her parents wanted to kill her before she was even born (and traumatise her classmates for life). But it would seem weird if she didn't put in her parents at all.

Valt was staying at America for a few days so that he could spend more time with Shu, and honestly Kirika couldn't blame him. Valt and Shu hadn't seen each other for months.

Kirika decided to find videos about their matches from when they were younger. She found one from over a decade ago, when Valt and Shu were eleven.

The match had taken place in Japan and had lasted for four battles. Kirika was stunned at how young her brother looked. She also noticed that he seemed to be experiencing discomfort. Was his shoulder hurt at that time?

She also found videos of Japan's National Tournament. Two of them had Shu fighting against Lui. She had already seen the first one, but she screamed when she saw the second one, which resulted in Spryzen breaking in half.

Kirika watched some matches of the International Blader's Cup, but stopped after the fourth round. She couldn't bear to see Shu act all weird and mean. The last straw was watching him break Valtryek's tip.

Kirika didn't understand it. How did her sweet and kind brother became so harsh and cruel? Of course, she knew that he was sometimes strict with his students, but she can't imagine him as a cruel person.

Suddenly, Kirika understood why Shu had sheltered her from his past. He hadn't wanted her to see what he had done.

Kirika googled the name of the previous owner of the Raging Bulls. She learned all about Theodore Glass and how he was both the manager of the Raging Bulls and the ruler of the Snake Pit. She learned that he was arrested shortly after Shu was rescued by Valt.

Kirika googled her parents, but there was no information at all about them, for they weren't famous like Shu.

Kirika googled Valt next. She ended up watching a video about the International Blader's Cup finals. She watched the match for almost an hour, for that was how long it was.

Suddenly, Kirika noticed some comments about the video and read them. Some of them were from years ago.

That was the best match I had ever seen.

It's really sweet how Valt still cares about his friend despite everything.

I thought that Shu was really scary when he was in his Red Eye phase, but you can't deny that his moves were cool.

Kirika happily read through the comments, but then she discovered some which were not so nice.

Why did Valt take Shu back after everything he's done?

If I was Valt I would have given up on Shu. That boy should be careful in case he pushes him away again.

Valt, he broke your bey's tip and you still try to help him?

Kirika felt sick. How could those people be so mean? They didn't understand things from Valt or Shu's point of view.
Then she noticed a comment that sounded like it came from Valt.

All of you guys leave Shu alone! He's my best friend and always will be. What happened wasn't his fault, and he apologized after the match. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for posting comments that could hurt him and damage his mental health further.

Just then, Fubuki saw what she was seeing and took the laptop away from her. "Kirika, you shouldn't be seeing this," he said.

"I can handle watching matches where Shu acts a little... Weird," she said.

"I'm talking about the comments," said Fubuki. "People can be horrible sometimes. Don't ever read comments. People will say those things because they don't dare say them to anyone's faces."

"I'll never be like that," said Kirika. "I will never be mean to anyone."
