Surprisingly, after the hospital visit, the two teenagers started walking to school together in the mornings. There was no clear reason why, but the Lee boy was waiting for Iyana outside her home.
The fog had rolled in thickly, making it hard to see much in the distance. The two walked in awkward silence until they arrived at the school gates.
"Good morning, Iyana," a voice called out, running up to them. They both turned to see the captain of the soccer team approaching.
"Good morning, Sunwoo," she mumbled, glancing back at the Lee boy, who kept a neutral expression on his face.
"I'll go. See you later," Haechan said, taking the opportunity to leave them alone.
Despite his neutral face, he was irritated by the presence of the Kim boy.

"You walk with Lee Haechan?" Sunwoo asked as they stashed their sneakers into their lockers.
"He's my neighbor," she replied in a monotone voice.
"Oh," Sunwoo said, walking up the stairs beside her.
"Iyana," he called, catching her attention. She met his gaze and stopped right in front of their classroom, causing all their classmates to overhear their conversation.
"Do you want to go on a date with me after school?" he asked. The entire class gasped at his sudden proposition. Everyone turned to look at her, making her feel the weight of their stares.
"Sure, you can text me," she said, clutching her books tighter to her chest and hurrying to her seat at the back of the classroom. As she passed by her classmates, her eyes locked with a visibly annoyed Haechan.
"Oh my god! I told you they'd start dating," Iyana's friend Chaeyeon giggled, slapping her boyfriend Intak's arm.
"Calm down, they could be dating, but that doesn't mean she likes him," he reminded her, rubbing his arm.
"So, you went out with me and didn't like me?" she asked in disbelief.
"No, I'm not talking about us, I'm talking about her. She hasn't had a crush for all of her sixteen years," he explained.
"But this is her new one!" Chaeyeon said, beaming at him, making Intak grin at her enthusiasm.
"How am I supposed to do your makeup now?!" Chaeyeon asked, focusing on Iyana as if the situation was a fun new challenge.

Unlike her friend, Iyana was dreading the random, last-minute date. She deliberately took her time walking to the lockers. She cursed under her breath for agreeing, but what else could she do? She didn't want to embarrass her friend in front of everyone.
